I just meant mentally choked. Although you're right. The Rousey fight was a dirty beating.
$400 PS4
$400 PSVR
$40 Camera
$50 Move Controllers
But PC gaming is too expensive...
Quite frankly, PS3 graphics in VR environment would be quite the achievement. There arent too many VR demos or games out so far that can touch the PS3 era.
Its not just dipping below 60fps that is the issue, but ANY framerate drops is very disorienting and will lead to nausea. Ive felt this first hand with the DK2.
Sounds like this game choked. No wonder they put Conor AND Rousey on the cover.
Have you ever watch a 3d movie? Thats your answer. Some people dont mind the 3d glasses, some people hate 3d movies.
Personally I cant wait for 3d movies in VR. The separate screens for each eye means that there will be zero crosstalk. I watched quite a few 3d movies/documentaries in both native and SBS 3d with the DK2 and the quality is startling.
This is a great feature. The Steam homepage in VR is a great way to segue the player from the homepage to the VR game. It wont be too jarring when you put the headset on after staring at the flat monitor.
Plus down the road I can see Steam letting you design your own home screen/waiting area. I would love to be at the helm of the Normandy or Starship Enterprise when I fire up my SteamVR account.
Why didnt Microsoft shout this from the hilltops? I figured they would be extremely excited to showcase DX12 and garner interest in the game on their platform.
Whether DX12 actually makes a diffence, I cant say. If it didnt make a difference, maybe thats why MS kept it under wraps. They have been touting DX 12 for a looooong time.
Dont forget the cost of the Camera. I cant believe PS didnt bundle it in for an extra $60.
VR is headed in different directions whether we like it or not. A PC gamer isnt going to buy a PS4 just for VR, and a PS4 gamer wont be picking up a PC for VR anytime soon either.
They were 2 different demographics to start, and they will stay that way for the foreseeable future.
The best we can hope for is developers making games for multiple headsets. Once the initial game is complete, they just have to scale it to the HMD and let the headset do all the fancy math. ...
This application could be incredible if it got on the gsync/free sync bandwagon. If it treats the headset like a virtual screen, I would hope it would treat the headset as just another display.
The Dev doesn't state once that PC is jittery or anything of the sort. He simply says PSVR is smooth and he can't say the same for PC. Hyperbole achieved.
Ditch these gimmick chairs and get an office chair. They are half the price of the DX and the ergonomic styles are 10X more comfortable. $350CDN will get you lots of comfort.
My personal choice: http://www.source.ca/office...
That may be true with a closed-console environment like X1/PS4, but they arent the only game in town for PC gamers. Steam has a huge market share in PC gaming and Microsoft is facing an uphill battle.
Pc gamers simply will not buy their products if they try to stick us with these ridiculous restrictions.
Does Origin, Uplay, etc do gamestreaming, FPS counters, family sharing, item trading, twitch streaming, friend lists, Co-op streaming (the other player doesnt even need to own the game, cloud saves, PLUS incredible daily/weekly/monthly/annual sales?
Origin and Uplay may "work just fine" but Steam is still king for a reason.
Remember the ire Valve got when it released Steam Machines? Microsoft teases the same idea and gamers praise it as the second coming. Ill never understand humans....
Nintendo should start piquing interest by talking about the library they hope to offer. Doesnt matter how great the new console will be unless they can get some software out there to gain a foothold in the market. The WiiU had abysmal launch titles and never really got any momentum going until SM3DW and Mariokart were released. Even then Mariokart, predominantly a massive seller on past consoles, didnt quite bring the masses around like Nintendo had hoped.
If I need an NX to play...
GTA 1 was where I cut my teeth. The overhead view, the insanely fast bikes, Garanga, it was a magical time in my youth. Me and my nerdy Pc buddies played it at each others houses for hours on end. GTA Chinatown on 3DS was a charming throwback to the first game.
CM Punks stats are the lowest on the roster and it's still generous. Gotta love the candor this director brings.
The point I'm making is whatever you spend your money on is your own prerogative. I enjoy PC gaming yet most console folk will denounce it because 'it's too expensive' Yet when console fans see something they want, all the sudden price doesn't matter.
Everyone percieves 'expensive' in their own way.
