Stop, and think about it.

Judging from Microsoft's bewildering business decisions of late, I could see them shoving a 1070 in the new console and powering it with an i5 equivalent CPU or something stupid.
This new Scorpio will be pricey if they expect to hit those marks. And we all know the best features of consoles are Price and Exclusives. The next console generation with their prices and short lived intervals really puts PC gaming as a viable option.

Hopefully game devs actually use this power. 6TF is overkill on anything the X1 has churned out so far. Considering most of their games are locked in at a framerate around 30fps, and 1080p certainly isnt the norm, 6TF is a waste on the existing X1 games. It may be a little while until we see Games actually utilizing this power unless Devs get their hands on this "Scorpio" ASAP.

Your loss. VR is amazing. Its the difference between playing a game through a window, and actually walking around inside that game. Flat games seem so sub-par after playing VR.

SP is the only campaign I'll play, so the score is 10/10 for myself.

Incredibly in-depth and an enticing read. Great article.

Oculus seems to think they are the only HMD in town with their terrible customer service. I mean it's not like there is another VR headset with arguably the biggest PC gaming platform backing them.
Buying my VR games off of Steam sounds like a good investment in the future. I don't know if Oculus will be around much longer.

The biggest support Microsoft is giving PC gamers is releasing an Xbox 1.5. If that isn't a reason to sell your console and buy a PC, then I don't know what is.
Buying a new console every 3 years sounds ludicrous.

Wii U games coming over to NX makes me think that they will either have a screen in their new controller (Good lord I hope not) or they will skip backwards compatibility for the Wii U. I just cant see how they would emulate the second screen.

I have to wonder if Nintendo is making a huge mistake missing E3 this year. The Wii U was a very confusing launch due to Nintendo relying on word of mouth and some vague commercials on TV to push its product. Nintendo needs to make sure this launch goes incredibly well. They cant afford to make the same mistakes they did with Wii U or New 3DS.

This article doesnt even touch on the New 3DS debacle. Once again Nintendo bequeaths the product with a terrible moniker -"New" 3DS? And then devs are unwilling to bet on games for the new device when the "Old" 3DS has sold millions of units. Nintendo has produced 2 lead balloons this gen and they really need a hit to recover.

The VR user base is very small right now. Halving it makes your audience even smaller. With VR still in its infancy, if it doesnt gain momentum fast, Devs will not be enticed to support it. I think Devs should share the wealth and hit as many platforms as possible.

Great to hear! Its always nice when PC gamers feel the love. Seems like we get shafted port after port. Keep it up id!

How many mods did you crank out in the last 3 years?

I would be very excited if they let Nintendo have a go at it. They are platform masters who can do right by Banjo Kazooie.

If you want a seated experience you can simply use one lighthouse on your desk just like the Rift. If you want full room VR, well you're gonna have to roll up your sleeves. That's just life.
You can use speaker stands to avoid drilling holes into your walls. And the initial setup only has to be done once. Mounting 2 lighthouses seems trivial compared to the full experience you will get out of VR.

This has Massive potential and could really tear down walls about what VR can do. I would much rather take a virtual tour of a museum than wait in line, listen to kids arguing and parents arguing, then stand in another line, then wait for someone to move out of the way so you get a clear view of the exhibit.
VR can make it a personal experience. Sign me up.

If I could have Tamriel in VR, I would never leave.
