Once you try VR though, AR seems like a joke. Why Augment reality when you can be completely Immersed in fantasy? VR is far ahead of the curve when compared to AR. One trip to the Oculus Share site will tell you how far along VR really is.
Even Steam has a VR mode now. Thats a pretty heavy-hitter to be backing VR in such a big way.
VR can scale the screen to be as big or small as you want. If you want a 10' screen from 14' away, they can make it happen. Plus the aspect ration would be a snap. 4:3, 16:9, 21:9, its all possible. The Virtual Desktop was a nice touch on how you can use VR as a viable monitor.
It may not replace your every day monitor, but it sure gives you a lot of nice options.
Oh and the Virtual Movie Players are fantastic!! I for one will be a day one adopter for th...
@Strawberry
Well the Steam Machines arent released until November along with SteamOS so the sales are.....zero. Is that the magic number you were hoping for?
This will be Valve's first foray into console territory, so there will no doubt be a learning curve to it. And the fact is that Valve isnt even making the Steam Machines. They are putting SteamOS on them and rebranding them, but its really the Pc vendors who are designing the Consoles - Alienware...
Mortal Kombat 9 was excellent on the X1 controller because of the D-Pad. But all told, you can use almost any controller with Pc nowadays. X360, DS3, DS4, Nyko, you name it.
I think your comment failed.
Once the N64 emulator works on WiiU can't they just release all Nintendo games? I don't understand the hold up. Considering Mupen64 and the like have been out for almost decades I don't see why Nintendo doesn't push more nostalgia titles. There is still money to be made if Nintendo simply evolves their services a bit.
The quality of Nintendo games cannot be surpassed. Mario 3d, Mariokart, and of course Super Smash Bros are incredibly detailed and polished games. I haven't seen X1 nor PS4 release such a bright, fun, and deep experience yet. Nintendo doesn't rely on hardware to sell games, the games sell themselves. Whether that is a hindrance or not is up for debate.
Ssssssh!! The title said it was a SECRET.
Cocaine freebased in Redbull couldnt get me excited for another FF...
Its hard to beat Tom's Hardware forums for good builds. PcGamer is always on the lookout for weekly deals as well.
Well you've officially gone far past my mediocre knowledge of the Anime/Japanese lore. Thanks for the info though.
Call me crazy, but I just wanted Fire Emblem on the big screen....
No ceiling on PC graphics so far. VR is going to take graphics even further still.
WTF did I just watch and where does Fire Emblem possibly fit in. This couldnt be farther from the FE style...
I really liked the Conversation options from Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect where you get about 4 options to choose from. 1 is positive, 1 negative, 1 pursuade positive, and 1 negative intimidate, regarding the conversation. That to me, felt like my choice, whether the intimidate or pursuade went against me, well thats the chance you take.
Link on the other hand really adds nothing other than a few grunts here and there. The conversation options are incredibly limited.
@RyanDJ Dont forget the Death of Superman for SNES. It was probably the best Superman stand-alone game yet.
I dont think there was a gamer alive that wanted the Superman game to succeed more than myself. The flying controls were an abortion! Thinking back on it, I dont know how this game ever made it onto the shelf. It was a horrble, buggy, mess.
Kudos for putting "Satire" and "Happy Pointless News Day" right at the top.
Comparing Bloodborne to Mario is pretty broad. Mario 3D is a brilliant platformer. Something that Bloodborne isnt trying to achieve.
@tool
What's to miss? Mario games aren't meant for realism or immersion, so why grade them on it? Would you compare driveclub to Mario 3d world?
Do your worst Namco. This is only hurting your image and is basically pointless with such a robust modding community at hand.
Maybe its time for Capcom to focus on Dino Crisis.
4K doesnt excite me nearly as much as VR support. VR seems to be a bigger upgrade over resolution in my eyes. Luckily I see more and more drivers support VR emulation. It gives me hope that someday I can play this with my Vive/VR in first person.
