VR is enough of a reason for me to upgrade. I wish we could find the gpu needed for the Vive or Rift. Then I could at least start budgeting. My ol 670 may not be able to handle VR in its glory.

I'm holding out on a new screen till VR drops. Virtual desktop and Steam VR mode may make a new screen obsolete for myself. I would rather spend the money on VR right now.

Interesting read, to be sure. The customized aspects of Pc are what made it my main platform. That freedom to build what I want was an alluring aspect. I currently rock about 3 different controllers, with only the Logitech giving me issues.

Since you can already play all of Nintendo's nostalgia franchises on RetroArcade and other emulators, I would have to think Nintendo would start pulling out some new IP's for mobile.

Sorry, just the billions of backwards-compatible Pc games to chose from.

VR works so well because it blocks out all surrounding light so that you get full immersion. I don't see how AR would achieve that without becoming a headset as well. I see AR as akin to google glass. I've worn an oculus for around 2-3 hours at a time. Even with the poor refresh rate and low res on the Dev kit, I only felt motion sickness once with the Star Wars Xwing demo. Claustrophobia will be the last thing on your mind when you put a headset on. VR feels scary-real so I doubt p...

I certainly don't think AR is > than VR. VR is fully immersive while AR puts 3d objects on a fixed point in the room. They may both have their audience but VR is all encompassing while AR has limited uses.
Plus the fact that VR is being developed by everyone from cell phones to Steam to Hollywood makes me think VR will be out and viable loooooong before these hololens take hold.

There is some duality to that: I have no idea how a console will do VR. Unless the Morpheus has some kind of GPU/CPU within, I have no idea how they will get that fidelity.

The other side of that, is of course the Pc crowd. Take a look at the Oculus Share site. It will blow your mind how far VR has come.

Try a VR headset with the right apps and I guarantee you will change your tune. Media without VR is like looking through a window. VR is actually being...

I didnt say 'best' console because of sales. I said sales pertain to the life of the console. Wii had a massive start out of the gate, but as the years waned, players dropped off massively due to the lack of quality games and basically the collective public getting tired of flailing their arms around to play a game.
Wii and Wii U are in 2 totally different places right now. The gimmick that Nintendo employed for the Wii U (gamepad) didnt lure peo...

Im disappointed with this selection. I want more games, not season passes. In fact, Season Passes can fly off the earth for all I care.

Maybe reread my comment where I talk about DIGITAL DOWNLOADS. I'm not talking physical copies. $10 for a digital copy of that game is outrageous.

The prices on the Wii U store for these old titles is outrageous! Super Mario 64 is $10!! The game is almost 20 years old and can be emulated on any cell phone out there.
Nintendo should look at services like Steam. Sale prices would definitely move their digital product. With no overhead or physical copies I think these prices are out of the realm of reality.

They look like Asian Dolls, guy. Gigantic eyes creep me out.
There is simply no comparing this to Skyrim, even unmodded.

Profits and sustainability are 2 different things. Wii U may make $50 a console over the cost of production. Profitable.
When the Wii U sells less than 10 million units in 2 years because the market is being eaten up, well that profit gets eaten up as well. Less Developers want to be on board, so Nintendo has to lure more over with incentives.
Nintendo has games coming out so far and few between that those games have a tremendous amount of...

Because of sales. Exclusives dont mean a thing if nobody is buying the console. Other than Zelda, there arent any system-sellers left for Nintendo to pull out. Even Mariokart, traditionally the biggest handheld/console mover barely moved the needle.
Its time Nintendo takes a hard look at the road ahead.

A new console wont magically fix Nintendo's problems right now. If Nintendo doesnt evolve their marketing, console design, and image, then they will be right back where they were with the Wii U.

The Wii U got off on the wrong foot and never really recovered. Nintendo cant afford another false start.

Actually Dlacy, drug test prove very little in finding out the cause of accidents. Im a safety guy, let me break it down for you:

Employee is driving. Employee hits something with vehicle. Employee fails piss test. Employee fired. Thats as far as the investigation goes.
Nobody knows if the conditions were slippery, if someone ran in front of the loader, whatever. Whatever the hazard was that caused the accident, you will never find out because the employee has...

Same here. I love to blaze and game. Drug tests infringe on our human rights and nobody will do anything about it. What we do on our own time is our business. Legally an employer cannot ask you if you are gay or pregnant, so why do they get away with keeping tabs on your weekend fun?

Time for change if you ask me.

Is Captain Toad worth $27? It was just a side game on SM3D so Im wondering how much content it has.

I agree wholeheartedly. Its the Nintendo curse. Great games seem to be overlooked by the general audience. I love Nintendo games, but after 25 years I pretty much hold out for the Marios and Zeldas. Xbox, PS4, and Pc offer so many big titles that Nintendo pretty much falls by the wayside.

Nintendo have never been marketing whizzes by any means. Nintendo directs just dont cut it anymore.
