One of the best things about being a PC gamer is the choices we have when it comes to buying games. GOG, CDKeys, Steam, Humble Bundle, are all great services who keep the prices low due to competition. Xbox marketplace has cornered the...uh market, so there isn't too many alternatives other than buying a retail copy for a premium.
Competition for digital distribution has given PC gamers cheaper games and more services to choose from.
Force Awakens was a disappointing movie and I can see why they didn't release a game concurrently with the new movies as they did in the past. Not too many guys would want to play as an invincible Jedi superwoman running around with the worlds worst Stormtrooper.
I'm hoping the franchise does an about-face, but with Disney at the helm, they will crank out 4 more sequels that play it safe and keeps ripping off the original trilogy. I mean, how many Goddam Death Stars...

I've installed the drivers that's came on the disc with the dongle, I've downloaded microsofts official drivers for the dongle and it still pops up with a window saying "not an official Microsoft product" or statement of that nature. I don't remember exactly as I haven't tried it again in a while. If anyone knows of a workaround, I'd love to hear it.
Conversely, Microsoft initially had the X1 dongle for Win10 only until gamer backlash...
I'm not into Piracy much anymore, but I am sad that my knock off Xbox 360 controller dongle won't work because it isn't officially a Microsoft device. Makes me wonder what other "unofficial" peripherals Win10 will lock out.
So Steam isn't as great because Valve doesn't make games and the only answer is GOG and Humble Bundle? Pardon my critique, but Steam still has VR, Gamestream, cloud saving, Gameworks Mods, and all for the low low fee of $0 a month.
Steam still manages to charm me.

PC community gets a very large portion of their games digitally and if anything it's a boon. Sites like GOG and CDKeys can help leverage the prices of new games. Digital gaming isn't all doom and gloom. I haven't used a disc in 5 years.

I paid $40CDN for Batman. It was a juddery mess and completely unplayable. Then they took it off the market because it was so bad.

Most people consider a PC as a gaming platform, meaning you can do a lot more with a PC, but they may not technically be built strictly for gaming.

I would be more willing to challenge that on the base that consoles can browse online and watch streaming services, just like a PC. Hell, you can even plug KBM into consoles nowadays.

I will freely admit that mine did cut out intermittently for a while. Then I realized the problem went away when I stopped plugging them into USB 3.0. I'm not sure if it's the same issue with your friends set, maybe try another USB port. Other than that the range is fantastic.
