JsonHenry: Lemme guess... you're an average, middle-class white male who has never once experienced racism or discrimination in his entire existence.

I didn't realize that being "competitive" and trash-talk meant people have to become racist, ignorant bigots. Has America regressed or something? I could've sworn we fancied ourselves a progressive country that's moved beyond such pathetic lows as stooping to racial slurs in a bickering match.

There's no way digital distribution of (high-def) movies will catch on and replace Blu-Ray like MP3s did to CD collections. There's just no way. The issue that's precluding that scenario is internet bandwidth. A lot of people are still on <56k dial-up modems! It simply takes too long to download a huge high-definition movie over current limitations of the internet infrastructure in America.

We're advancing in so many ways technologically; computer speed and processing power,...

Videogames can be a significant portion of where and how you grew up. Studies have shown that videogames can increase aggressive behavior. Of course, this varies greatly according to the individual and the type of videogame, but as a general rule it is correct.

Instead of flatly denying and rejecting what the article says, I think that it's at least worth some consideration. Think about the military and warfare historically; I'm sure there have been training programs and a healthy emphasis on cognitive reshaping of our soldiers since the first World War. It's a definite tactic to train our soldiers to look at the enemy as inhuman or subhuman, as animals that we should feel no COMPASSION for, evil entities that need to be vanquished by RPGs and M16s....

Surfer Girl has been right on Far Cry 2 for PS3/360, Double Fine's next game (Brutal Legend), legitimate pre-alpha screenshots of Prince of Persia and Resistance, and probably more...

Regardless, she may very well be posting negative stuff about Ubisoft and smearing their games, because they burned a bridge with her by not supplying her with anymore inside intel/information.

Crytek has disclosed on several occasions that they are working on a console game. It's a non-FPS game that's not set in the same universe as Far Cry or Crysis. No platform(s) announced at the moment for what this new IP will be.

Consoles don't have as much RAM per se comparative to PCs, but there are a lot of other factors to consider, such as consoles being closed platforms, not having a big resource hog with the OS overhead, and streaming/caching technologies possible by streaming and caching off the disc and harddrive. All these things alleviate some of the RAM limitations.

What about games like Oblivion, Just Cause 1+2, Assassin's Creed, GTAIV etc.? All these are 360, and all these have huge game worlds, some bigger than Crysis or FC2 even. Explain?

I wouldn't go so far as to say they're one of the best developers of all time. They're made some duds. Nor will I say that they stink on ice and that Assassin's Creed is proof of that. I thought Assassin's Creed was at the very least a very unique experience that has a bunch of new gameplay mechanics which hasn't been done before, and that's at least worthy of commendation. On top of that, the presentation and production values are fantastic, with good voice acting and dialog, and an interest...

After playing Assassin's Creed, it reaffirmed to me the talent level and storytelling ability of its developers, Ubisoft Montreal (who also did this game). And has me excited again for what they have in store for us with Far Cry 2. Could turn out to be an exhilarating and unique game experience.

Meh, I doubt this'd match MGS4. Few movie directors, let alone hack videogame directors, have the artistic and cinematic vision of Hideo Kojima. That's something you can't replicate just buy spending more moolah.

Crytek said it themselves: The only reason Crysis can't be done on consoles is because of memory constraints, not CPU or GPU power. It's not a matter of "Crysis looks too good," it's that the levels are too big and require too much memory. Watch the Gamespot video interview.

The Crytek CEO is quoted as saying, "If you compare, per frame, we can achieve everything we want on all three platforms, the PC, the PS3, and the 360."

That actually would be an absolutely terrible marketing on the part of EA, if true; wait for Crysis sales to pick up when everyone can eventually upgrade their PC parts to handle this game... when all the hype generated by its marketing and release has completely died down. Sounds like a really sound strategy (not).

I love how you contradict yourself in one sentence also: UT3 sold poorly because it is mediocre compared to all the "high profile addictive shooters" that...

JsonHenry: Never mind the fact that, in addition to UT3 for PS3, Unreal Tournament 2 was on the PS2 and the Xbox 1 last generation. And Unreal Tourney 1 was for the Dreamcast.

I guess that's why we're snapping these games up, after all, we've never experienced something like Unreal Tournament on consoles before. *Rolls eyes*.

I guess they're talking about the enjoyment of sitting in empty lobbies in UT3 for PC.

That's some shoddy-ass, dishonest reporting there by CNN. There are no kinks in the rating system, it works just fine as it is. They made it seem like Assassin's Creed is rated E for Everyone or something, and that you can turn the blood+gore on in the game. Clearly Assassin's Creed is rated M for Mature. But CNN carelessly neglected to mention that.
