Seriously, PC nerds are some of the most egregious, dumbest fanboys in all of videogames.
"(All PC exclusive, and multi-plats are usually better on PC in other cases)"
And sell ~10 times better on consoles. Without lost dollars because of pirates either.
It's not about money, it's about the games. I have the money, but I much prefer console games and the console experience. The PC platform just doesn't have enough games or variety to satisfy my needs. Not being an RTS fan, the selection of PC titles (or lack thereof) doesn't exactly warm me up to PC gaming, I'm sorry. I'm getting real sick of the occasional elitist nerdboy crawling out of the woodwork to look down on people who game on consoles, like it's out of necessity rather than choice. ...
Geez, what a bunch of whiners. Lucasarts, or any other publisher, isn't beholden to the PC as a gaming platform. They aren't obligated to make games out of some imaginary loyalty as their sole reason. They do what they do to make a profit, first and foremost, and what's most ironic to me is that all these whining, boo-hoo'ing PC gamers, chastising publishers and developers, are the ones who are pirating and peddling millions of copies illegally distributed software, and costing the industry m...
Understood, but it's really a matter of personal preference. For single-player experiences in shooters, I much prefer the convenience and ergonomics of a controller, on the couch in front of the big screen, as opposed to having my arms cramping up akimbo on the keyboard and computer desk.
Now that's cool.
This guy really is borderline retarded. Just read some of the stuff he says. He's got no business handling the soft-serve machine at Dairy Queen let alone directing feature films.
Christ, the PS3 software sales are turd.
The 360 version seems to have sharper textures, and better anti-aliasing.
EDIT: I don't own a 360, just a PS3.
.
Agreed.
ALL profits from GoW? Are they joking? Jesus christ, I don't know which side is right, and SK may very well be justified in its accusations, but some of these compensatory demands are just ridiculous.
He wasn't bashing consoles or defending the delusion of PC profitability. Rather, he was actually saying that making an engine and a game on the PC platform can be profitable because they can eventually port them to consoles.
Of course they're not scared, they have console versions forthcoming. Lol.
Splinter Cell is a dead franchise. It's been basically steadily going downhill ever since the first game, which was very good. Although Double Agent wasn't bad.
Comparing MGS to Splinter Cell is like comparing a B-movie to a highly anticipated blockbuster with huge production values. Nowadays, there's just no quality comparisons between the two franchises.
If you follow the link to the Gameradar preview, you'll see that they hint at the end that there will be no compromises made to the PS3 and 360 versions. Very cool if true.
It's still coming to 360, according to Surfer Girl: http://softrockhallelujah.b...
Throughout the history of consoles, it has been shown that you cannot directly compare technical specs between a console and a PC. They're intrinsically different platforms and developmental environments. For instance, you get a hell of a lot more out of 512mb of ram on a console than you would on a PC. Same can be said about the videocard make and model.
Case in point, is how well Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and DOOM 3 ran on the original Xbox 1, which was basically a 733mhz I...
Never heard of terrible ports?
If OB and F.E.A.R. are representative of all the PS3 is capable of, then Sony, IBM, nVidia should all just collectively SHOOT themselves.
I personally thought that Republic Commando for Xbox and most of the Rogue Squadron series were awesome games. I actually liked Shadows of the Empire for N64 as well. Am I missing anything?
