Power of Green and Tarasque, that's just purely uneducated, atechnical, and biased conjecture from you two, regarding something video-output-related that you simply don't know anything about. The color and contrast differences you see between PS3 and 360 versions of multiplatform games comes down basically to the differences in brightness and black level output between the two machines.
Bottom line, when an HDTV is a correctly tuned and calibrated for the PS3, then it would look ...
That's just a result of the different black and/or brightness level outputs between the PS3 and XB360 (and possibly the author incorrectly switching the PS3 to "Limited Range" at the time of recording). When your HDTV is calibrated correctly, the PS3 versions of games should look every bit as deep and colorful as their 360 counterparts.
I've heard that XB360's HD outputs tend to exhibit a signficant amount of black crush (which is a bad thing if you're a videophile who ...
Dude--it's a videogame. It can't be COMPLETELY realistic. There's a restart option for a reason. When you die in the game, you don't die in real life.
Also, check out this awesome metal box art for the limited edition. Much better than the regular edition.

So much for Gamespot buckling to the big corporate sponsors, eh?
I'm sticking with Firefox.
Call me crazy for betting against Google, but I predict this to be a failed venture on their part on this one.
For whatever reason, stories like this never seem to happen. Wealthy, nerdy guys don't suddenly die off like that. It's usually the celebrities and/or comedians, but not corporate bigwigs.
I don't see the resemblance at all. Just because they're both Asian females doesn't mean they look alike.
I'll continue to buy my used games and bargain bin games from EA (if they happen to make a title that interests me, which hasn't happened in the last 5 years). That's good to hear, EA, thanks for the tip on how to not support you.
What's interesting is that this concept video of what Warhead was supposed to be like is what Killzone 2 ended up ultimately being (lotsa explosions and scripted events and things of that sort). The whole thing reminded me of KZ2 as I was watching it.
Not that that type of game is my cup of tea either. I hate scripted, linear games/shooters.
This article is just idiotic in its implication. What would happen to all the 15 million PS3s that people already own? They can't run newer games?
I think I'll just pick my games up at the store (e.g., Gamestop or Target, etc.). It's not like there are any coupons or savings from buying from Amazon anyway.
It's not always true in every single case (when it comes to multiplatform games), but there is reason to believe that it may be true for this particular type of game, just because of how CPU intensive it, with regard to all the physics and destruction and such, lending itself to a lot of parallel processing. All of it has the potential be handled very well on the Cell processor.
But then you don't really see anything quite equivalent to the 8-core Cell processor in the consumer PC desktop world, do you?
Not to mention that developers generally NEED extra (GPU) power in the realm of PC development to compensate for the inherent inefficiency of the extra OS and API overheads, which bogs down game performance of the PC platform, as well as the lack of extreme to-the-iron optimization that has long been a virtue of console development.
The current consoles aren't as underpowered and incapable of running Crysis and/or the CryEngine 2 as some might think (or might WANT to think). Check out the link:

In no way did I say nor do I think that Far Cry 2 will get GotY. I'm saying that in my personal view, it DESERVES to win GotY. However, for several reasons, one of which being lack of rabid fanboy hype, it will not win GotY. Which is a damn shame to me, because FC2 is shaping up to be one of the most memorable FPS experiences ever.
Resistance 2, and possibly Killzone 2, will offer more in terms of multiplayer support. But in terms of single player, neither of those games will have the same kind of richness, quality, and depth of single campaign gameplay (estimated length of 40-50 hours on first playthrough), along with a seemingly very original and inspired story (i.e., NOT ANOTHER SCI-FI FPS IN SPACE).
For my money, anyone looking for a deep single player FPS experience, with a wide open, explorable world,...
And how would you know that? Has a port of Crysis even been attempted on consoles? How would you know for an absolute fact that a game like Crysis would be technically impossible to replicate on those platforms? Considering that there has been absolutely NO real evidence whatsoever to corroborate this long-held belief in the PC-centric community. I think this is a case more of WISHFUL THINKING on behalf of certain fanbases, rather than technical reality. Crysis is a visually excellent game, b...
I don't care what NOBODY says. This is MY pick for GotY. Nothing else in the offing seems to offer anything close to what this will offer.
Exactly the same as the game I played 13 years ago. This footage isn't newsworthy.
