They went unchecked on Square Enix's MMO Final Fantasy XI for a long time. It really harms the games, and I'm surprised more companies have not already taken action.
When is E3 this year? July?
Sorry, double.
I'm honestly not a fan of Gears of War. I could care less if it went over to PS3. It looks great, but the game itself is very weak in my opinion. Better looking games will come, better games exist.
@FeralPhoenix
Obviously that's not what HE said. As I said, he tried to pass it on as inside information. His article was almost word for word exactly what has been posted before and debunked. In fact, here it is for you to see:
IGN.com - March 5, 2003
At the end of 2001, one of the biggest titles to be released for any of the current generation consoles was Metal Gear Solid 2. As the follow up to the blockbuster smash hit PSX title Metal Gear Solid, it we...
Destructoid brought this rumor back from the dead. A "journalist" there basically copy and pasted a post from xbox.com that was admittedly false and tried to pass it as inside information. Of course it spread, and now we're here. This rumor will not die until it's confirmed or Metal Gear Solid 5 is released.
First of all, this doesn't have much to do with games...yet.
Secondly, I honestly believe this technology is going to go very far. I fully expect to have something like this in my home and at whatever places I shop at in the not so distant future.
It's going to be the best FPS of the year, quote me.
Unless Killzone lives up to its production cost. Which, unfortunately, I doubt very much.
I don't know why but as soon as I saw that Microsoft had a mystery product on Digg earlier I thought of that exact video embedded in the article. I knew what it was somehow.
Are they making some kind of game with it or something? "Play Table"?
Why would anyone here be envious or afraid? I seriously doubt this will affect the PS3 and I'm sure everyone else feels the same way. People are just having fun, simmer.
@ ZeroAlarm
I'm going to go with A. I think it's going to be some new type of interactivity.
Sounds really good. I've been waiting for UT3 but there hasn't been much information. Looking forward to playing this on PS3, supposedly with mouse and keyboard support.
This was posted on Destructoid by one of their "journalists" too. It has about 430+ comments right now.
Well I couldn't tell the difference, but I sure as hell see a big improvement on my TV. I don't know what IGN is doing wrong, but I do know that they're not getting the same affects that I'm getting.
This is definitely an interesting read, thanks for posting.
Thanks for telling us the "truth" deadeyes99, but I'm more inclined to believe what the developer of Heavenly Sword has to say about programming than you. Sorry.
I can access all of the files on my PC with my PS3 now. Basically, I can watch free porn on my 46" HDTV.
If its CPU was as beneficial to its general performance as it is to its gaming capabilities, it would be a supercomputer. That's a pretty absurd (fanboy) notion, so all this article really does is state the obvious.
Xbox360 Elite: It makes the red lights look much cooler! Also comes with gimped HDMI.
Playstation 3: Look at this amazing hardware! No..don't try to do anything with it, just look at it. You can't actually play it until the end of this year.
Wii: N64 games are awesome when you don't have to press buttons! No? Well...I'll give it to you for $350 then.
There, it's done. No flaming now?
Basically people will obtain in-game currency and/or items and sell them to people for real money. In FFXI they worked in shifts and you would see the same group of players online 24/7 doing nothing but earning game currency. This creates a sort of false demand since buyers are given loads of game currency without taking the time to earn it. The higher demand usually leads to higher prices on rarer items, and makes it very difficult for legitimate gamers to afford those items.
