I agree with pretty much everything he said. I don't think the PS3 will reach a point that it "absolutely blows away" the 360, but in time it will surpass it to a point that its technological superiorities are clear. Also, I'm positive that the Wii fad will end and it's going to end hard. That said, Nintendo consoles will never really be a complete joke until they lose Mario and Zelda.
The article assumes they want it on 360 because that's the only practical port. In reality, they're just doing some wishful thinking and want FFXIII on the Wii. I seriously doubt there are enough 360 owners in Japan to warrant the results given.
That's a really cool idea. I'm sure it would be great for some games, but others it may not be very good to have a keyboard attached to your controller. FFXI comes to mind as one game that this would be great for.
For the comment above, how the hell do you gather that Microsoft's plan for an "Elite" 360 makes the PS3 inferior? The Elite is catching up to the PS3, and it's doing so in a way that hits your wallet a lot harder than one $600 purchase for 6-10 years. The &...
Good list there. I was also surprised that they didn't include Zipper's project. That's SOCOM 4 in all likelihood.
I was going to post something about how absurd your statement was but then I realized that your name is "power of Green". What you said makes no sense.
Also, Gears of War could have absolutely been on the PS3. It probably couldn't be ported since they built it specifically for the 360- that would have been a more accurate statement. Resistance: Fall of Man couldn't be done on the 360 because it uses too much space and SPU oriented AI. Does that mean another game just...
Absolutely no effect on the format war.
The PS3 version is rated lower because it's out a year later. Just like Fight Night Round 3, which looks far better on PS3. The PS3 version of Oblivion looks and runs better than the 360 one, and includes an expansion. It's better, but it's still a year old game...and that's probably the main reason that it's better in the first place.
"[the PS3 version is a] definite technical improvement over the 360 edition" -from the review.
Anyone who doesn't want the 360 to get Folding@Home needs to seriously take a look at their priorities. Sure, I want the PS3 to do better and prove itself more powerful at processing (which I'm 100% positive it is), but to look at a program that's aiding the fight against diseases like cancer as an exclusive that you want to stay on the PS3 is very, very wrong.
This would probably be the first GOOD addition to the console war. Throw some real competition into this program and t...
It looked like the Cell had a pretty easy time handling the game to me. How many times did you see the PS3 version turn choppy or even have to load? In terms of processing, the PS3 completely put the 360 to shame here. Graphics are arguable, but they look a bit cleaner, and much more detailed on the PS3 version to me. In this video, the colors did look more vivid on the 360 though.
Like every other comparison like this, they look nearly identical. The PS3 version does look slightly better, and while it is more significant than most other multiplatform games- it still isn't a big deal. What IS a big deal, though, is the superior performance of the PS3 version. Not only did the 360 have to load up areas that the PS3 was capable of handling without doing so, it also experienced some nasty hitches. I think this has a lot more to do with the PS3's hardware compared to the 36...
Except when the developers take the time to make a decent port. Ala Oblivion and Fight Night Round 3.
Universal has been with HD-DVD forever haven't they?
I'm skeptical about their findings because I saw a test a long time ago with actual information, charts, and evidence back before the PS3 launched that was comparing power consumption and it showed something very different.
It's really not that weird to me at all. Just showing the multimedia capabilities of the PS3. The crying baby and dancing Bubba on the other hand...
I haven't read it yet, but Pokemon better be up there. That game is not only screaming to be made into an MMO, it's slapping Nintendo in the face, hard, for not already having done it. Seriously, do they not see the $potential$ in that?
Edit: Just read it- solid list. I think Naruto also has some potential, but it looks like they just went with popular video game franchises. Anyone who has watched the anime has probably thought about how well it would fit into an MMO. Good post...
I understand the concept behind these European ads, but they're really terrible. People buy consoles because of the Motorstorm footage they saw not some random black guy dancing who makes no direct reference to the PS3.
Who goes to Yahoo for gaming news? Or any news for that matter.
It's not a common problem; I've owned my PS3 since launch, play it constantly, and have seen it twice (same day). Maybe the reason that it's not showing up on the 360 is because that console doesn't stay alive long enough for the problem to pop up.
It happened to me twice on Resistance in the same round online. This was within the first few days that I had the PS3, and it hasn't happened since.
Also, Xbox fanboys have absolutely no room to talk about hardware malfunctions. I don't plan on having to replace my controller, let alone the console itself every several months.
"Bloody impressive" indeed. I don't care what the naysayers believe, the PS3 has a very bright future.
