The PS2 was indeed a great system. I remember trying to figure out which "next-gen" system to ask my parents for for Christmas. I also remember my dad being on a "business trip" on launch day. My mom and dad took turns waiting in line at Walmart for it. I played Tekken Tag Tournament and Madden 01 too much to realize that it was coming under pressure from the media at the time. Possibly the greatest console of all time, and it's still kicking (God of War 2 FTW).

Another important note about Home is that Sony is going to include all of the community features (grouping, etc) outside of the Home arena. A lot of (fanboyish) people in the media have been expressing a concern about having to wander around Home to accomplish things that can be done easier with a simple interface. Home is only going to act as an alternate method to accomplishing those tasks, plus a huge number of other tasks.

I can see myself having a LOT of fun with this. It's the perfect party game- imagine having a group of friends over your "house" in Home and heading into LittleBigPlanet to create and roam around before a clan meeting or something. I can't wait for fall for so many reasons...
There's no reason to sit here and argue about whether or not it's ingame when the devs themselves said that it was. It's a cutscene from the game with touch ups. It looks great, but I don't see why it's that hard to believe. To be honest, I don't know why we haven't been seeing cutscenes of this caliber for a while now. It IS next-gen after all...
Now if they claimed that they could do this with gameplay (what tricks do you have up your sleeve, Cell?) I'd be suspicious.
Define "useless" here. Does it mean, it bothers me that the PS3 is obviously capable of more than my console and I'm upset? Because I honestly don't see how this technology is useless.
I don't think anyone should care what Nintendo thinks about online gaming. Look at what they have going now; a terrible service on the DS and none at all on the Wii.

Talk about immature. A huge announcement for Sony that will most likely shadow Microsoft's achievements and Nintendo's Miis and all of the 360 fans post about how "gay" it is. That's right, be afraid. Be very afraid.

HD-DVD is older than Blu-ray and therefore always had an edge in "total sales since inception." Blu-ray has been slaughtering HD-DVD in the past several months, and "100 to 98.71" only indicates that it recently surpassed it in total sales(ever).
HD-DVD was released quite a bit before Blu-ray, and therefore had an advantage in total sales. Blu-ray has caught and surpassed HD-DVD, and the spread will only get wider. Also, Blu-ray is much healthier and is selling much faster right now, don't let the "total" numbers fool you.

So they're basically expecting sales to stay the same for the next 3 years? I'm sorry, but I think that with everything from firmware updates, format victories, the HD movement, next-gen appearances of big titles(Halo, MGS, Mario) and the advent of an actual PS3 and Wii software lineup the sales trend will change drastically between now and the end of THIS year.
