One thing the article fails to realise is that M$ will be spectacularly beaten to a pulp (by Sony PS3) if they hang around for another 5 years before releasing the next Xbox.
If M$ release a console before say 2012 then the cheapest easiest storage medium will still be Blu-Ray.
They have 2 choices I believe:
1. they adopt Blu-Ray.
2. they develop some kind of On-Live type download/stream mechanism for games.

Crumbling bridge level just sold it to me. Reminds me of Urban Chaos on the PS1 where you can explore all the high up rooftops looking for things and climbing everything you can see in the hope of something cool happening.

The siege of Falluja was a massacre. Would you play a game about 9/11 told from the perspective of the hijackers? I expect the answer is no and so it should be.
Because the massacre was of people that you don't empathise with makes it no less horrific and no more suitable to be a FPS for general release.
My god this game just became my most wanted for PS3. Pixeljunk monsters is already my most played PS3 game... which probably means I'm doing it wrong.
What happened during the operation was shocking, illegal and immoral. If at any time during the Iraq conflict US forces were guilty of war crimes and indiscriminate killing then it was during the Falluja siege for sure. Civillians were effectively told that US forces were going to be mounting an operation and anybody who didn't want to be killed had better leave their home and flee. During the conflict independent observers reported ambulances, hospitals and places of refuge being fired upon....
It seems developers are hesitant to look too cozy to Sony this time round. Nintendo are deemed neutral to the extent that even M$ owned Rare have released games for Nintendo consoles.
Rockstar will likely not release a single game for the PS3 that will not go to the 360 this generation, the status of GTA5 will either prove or disprove me on that point.

Killzone 2 sold just over a million in just over a month. It will likely sell more than 3 million over the life of the PS3. Hardly a great failure.
I doubt it will even sell much in the USA anyway it's more of a Euro, Japan thing. Why they bothered paying for US and European versions is beyond me. They won't even get their money back on the 360 sales of it.
Just got this game a month ago and played nothing else for probably 2 weeks solid. Really enjoyable. As good as GTA4? No way! Certainly a great game desperately in need of DLC and trophies though. This influx of achievements only convinces me to sell my PS3 version this very evening.
A better comparison would be FF8 where on disc 4 almost every major location on the game is locked off behind magical walls because they could only fit a set number of all the games locations on each disc.
Seriously though, that's hillarious. The demo is 5GB the complete game is...? Surely at least another 20GB. I'd wager that at least another 5GB would be taken up by cutscenes.

2.70 has broke my LBP levels. I use my girlfriends card to buy content on her account and use that content on my levels, on my sub accout, on the same PS3. Now I can't edit my levels because it says I don't own the content on those levels. Hope this is fixed or I will NOT be playing LBP anymore.
But Metacritic is every major review so how can it be biased? You either think that Edge are slightly biased against the PS3 or you believe that every major magazine is biased in favour of it. Which one is it?
Absolute pap! Can't beleive I wasted my time watching that. Game will likely be excellent though.
The fact of the matter is that Sony have been selling huge numbers of PS3s without a price cut. That hasn't been great for business but it certainly is notable and tells me 2 things about what will happen when a proper price cut does come.
1. M$ will be f*cked
2. Third party development will turn to PS3 first, further increasing M$s f*cknedness.
Rare have become defunct as have Ensemble Epic aren't truly exclusive to 360 and Linohead have one successful...
But those games were either bettered or are available on newer consoles.

Final Fantasy 7 as it is doesn't even support analogue sticks and that's if you can afford to shell out £30 for it on ebay.
