You don't get it. It's Nintendo publishing it. Nintendo never let games go multiplatform after they publish it. Comparisons between MS and them are pointless.

It is PUBLISHED by NINTENDO. Nintendo do not allow games they publish to go Multiplatform.
It's why MGS: Twin snakes was never in the MGS HD Collection.
It's why Nintendo blocked the Goldeneye XBLA Remake.
Sega cancelled the funding for this game. Nintendo revived it. It will stay on WiiU.

How is it inconclusive? The WiiU is releasing after the Wii. Therefore it is next gen. It's as simple as that.

Your logic regarding what next gen is, is very flawed. You state that PS2 is next gen compared to PS1 and PS3 is next gen compared to PS2 because of their increase in more powerful hardware, therefore you contradict yourself as you are also saying WiiU isn't, despite the WiiU being better than it's predecessor.
Your idea of next gen is also flawed as you are essentially saying that PS2 was a generation behind last gen because it was weake...

Here in the UK, we get all the maps just by preordering at select retailers.
The game releases 2 weeks later. This is pretty much the normal timeframe for most companies.
The point is to sell the game. If they gave it a general release months before, people may forget about it and buy something else.

It's understandable. The game looks like it is using every bit of power the PS3 has. Adding 3D would probably hinder the game and development.
