"A common refrain through the Xbox 360 era was that exclusives no longer really mattered."
No, that was what Microsoft was saying, meanwhile Sony was making new IP's like Infamous, Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Little Big Planet ect.
Not only did PS3 beat 360 it did it in a year less time on the market.
And I see this is an instance where xbox fans choose to ignore RROD sales, but I'm sure when next you compare the xbone to the 360 the reason the xbone is losing is because of RROD again.
No, that's not true.I challenge you to find even a hand full of negative comments about Microsoft from Nintendo or Sony. Where as Phil or some other Microsoft exec is almost constantly in the press talking about and trying to downplay Sony.
Actually it was Microsoft who started it, they literally said the goal of xbox was to take on Sony, then proceed to start the entire argument about sales with their monthly sales announcements aimed directly comparing them to Sony.
Quite frankly the PS4 is exactly what Microsoft deserves.
Right, I'm saying there is no tilt. That is what they have always been doing. You just replied to my comment about how Sony publishes more games than people think. Sony has published games for casual and hardcore gamers for generations. That's why they are such a popular gaming brand.
Well... you're not wrong.
Willfully forgetting about companies histories and encouraging people buy things with out any regard for the past seems to be a reoccurring theme around here.
Sony is constantly publishing big and small games. It's a shame that people only seem to remember the big AAA games.
Tilt towards games... They have been all about games since day one 25 years ago. It's those other people that only now realize games might be important... even if it's just the same three games over and over and they seem to be more interested in services.
The scariest thing in the game is losing your connection to the server.
It seems No Mans Sky has become a genre.
They should make Sunset Overdrive 2 a PS5 launch title.
I was worried as soon as Disney gave Star Wars to EA.
Most of PlayStation and Nintendo of Americas executives are native English speakers. But try at nice deflection.
I'm sure xbox with it's low user base will benefit greatly from PlayStation's success..
We reject the console war that we started then continued and still continue to this day, not because we think it's bad business, but because we're losing.
If Phil was in any way even the tiniest bit sincere he would stop doing these articles every day and stop paying for negative press against Sony all the time.
It''s funny Phil talks about PlayStation and Nintendo on a near daily basis. Where as you can count the number of times Sony and Nintendo have talked about Microsoft this gen on your fingers. It comes across as incredibly insecure.
As long as Microsoft owns Rare they'll never create games like that again. They can reuse the names but the games will never be as good.
Hopefully it turns out better than the rest of Micrsoft's offerings this gen, But I fear it's just going to be an online only Destiny loaded up with micro transactions
Halo on PlayStation... sooner than you think.
