@Crazy
Won't need duplicate data on DVD9 as the drive speeds are fast enough to do it without. That's a limitation of Bluray.
I didn't see it, what did his shirt say?
Regarding whether or not this will be a simultaneous release in NA/EU, reread this quote:
'* What’s the development process for the game? Hashimoto: “As we announced at the Microsoft presentation, as of today we are ready to start developing the title for Xbox 360. First, we will complete the PS3 in Japan. Then after that we will start localization of ‘FFXIII’ for PS3 for US and Europe. Then at the same time, we will start Xbox 360 the version development. That’s our entire pro...
Probably. I mean, if you can sue McDonald's for making you fat, Budweiser for making you sleep with ugly chicks, the Wii for making you play sh!tty games, then I'm sure you can sue MS for making you believe lies.
How does anyone know that Square hasn't been developing it for the 360 for some time...?
Way to soften the blow..."We lost FF exclusivity, but here, take this." Reminds me of what MS did when Live when down for seven years.
How quickly you've forgotten the days of FF7 and multiple discs. Praise your gift and a curse in Bluray; but just remember, it's a curse as well. It takes less time to switch through fifteen discs than it does to install 5GB to an HDD.
As the guy above stated, GTA didn't really push crap, now did it?
I said this before, but if you were SE and looking at the PS3s fanboyish jump to the shooter genre and ditch the RPG genre (how many does PS3 have...less than the ...
The only thing that would please the fanboys is Sony making the announcement, "We have just purchased 51% of the shares in SE and FF will stay exclusive." You still get to play your FF, get over it. Besides, if you wanna petition, do it over the near complete and utter lack of JRPGs this gen. If you were SE looking at how Sony has jumped on the SHOOTER bandwagon this gen, what would you do?
@Pirate:
Lol, that cracked me up. Bubbles.
Do you have a link showing this is confirmed? I don't think so.
Why? It's not a "you trade, I trade" scenario. It's business. If that's your thinking, then consider it payback for Bioshock.
If Sony thought it was going to make or break their console, I'm sure they would have paid. Obviously, they don't care. Besides, anymore I enjoy Shin Megami Tensei more than FF anyway. I was more disappointed with SO4.
My Prediction: Sony's big E3 announcement: "SO4 is coming to the PS3 as well!" Like that isn't obvious.
That was definitely unexpected. Maybe Sony are throwing in the towel this gen. Kudos to MS, at least they have some RPGs on their system. Sony seems to have underrated the importance of that genre to their console as it's nowhere to be found on their system as of late.
I hope you're not actually saying MS only has three franchises...
Yup, I'm sure it's out of desperation. I'm sure the bigwigs at MS were like, "OMG! We need to make a move fast or else we'll go bankrupt! We HAVE to reduce the price in order to compete." They are doing it to sell more consoles. I'm sure they have nicely paid people who track their figures and the economy in order to make these decisions. Call me crazy, but I'd guess their number one goal is to make a hefty profit off their system...everything else is just a plus.
W.H.O. C.A.R.E.S.? Both systems have great looking games. If it was ALL about graphics, Halo would suck and PCs would still be all the rave.
VoR, ALL of them, huh? What about Burnout? I only need to name one to discredit you.
Devil, you are too quick to forget FF7/8/9, huh? Crying over two discs is stupid. If there was a game released on multiple BDs you'd probably just reply, "Well, it'd be like 80 discs on DVD9."
Have to agree, NG/NG2 has the best fighting mechanics in that genre. It's that alone that bring back its customers. You can't say that about GoW or DMC. It might not be a more complete game, but it is untouched in that regard.
My two biggest complaints:
Lack of games...especially RPGs (FF titles alone will not fill the void)
Possible fix: Sony should really do something to HELP third party devs with their tech. Maybe even give away all the coding their first party studios used to make their games. This would help with the other problem. It's obvious some devs are turned off by the difficulty.
More compatible software. Many common cameras, etc are not compatible with...
I agree, you can swap discs quicker than an install. However, I'm not sure it only takes fifteen seconds because of the loading screens and all. I'd give it 30 to 45... That does nothing to argue your point though, as you can still switch out many discs qucker than you can install five gigs of data. The one drawback and reason I prefer one BD over multiple DVD9s is just because there's less risk management. It's a lot easier to misplace or damage a game on multiple discs. Not to mention...
