Ok, having played both Resistance and Gears (along with many PC FPS), I don't really understand your comment. So, Gears has some uber pedigree which makes it a great game while Resistance does not? Elaborate that for me.
Both games have their flaws. From Gears' instant kill glitches to Resistance's gay grenade and rocket weapons. Either one will help the talentless to get their fair share of kills.

Agreed. Obviously smart companies see something that really takes off and think, "Man, they have to be stupid for doing that. There's no way I'd want some of that market share." Everyone does indeed copy everyone else. The only thing I wonder about is which first party devs will make intelligent use of their 'Wii-motes'? For me, Tekken 6 will be bigger than RFoM2, KZ2, and GTA4 combined. I love shredding people with Nina's hayashida step and jap juggles. Nothing beats a great fighter in that you have no buddies to save your butt. It you vs your opponent and the better fighter will win. The only disappointment for me has been the inclusion of death combos. But oh well, still can't wait.

Both consoles will get DLC of some sort and I still don't care. For me, a major overhaul is needed to this game before I give a rats @$$. The gameplay was never perfect imo and I just really can't take playing GTAIII coated in a different shell over again for the umpteenth time.
A lot of people had never played a FFXII battle system before and I doubt FFXIII will be all that revolutionary. All it really is is a MMORPG battle system thrown in an RPG. FFXII copied so many battle elements from FFXI so it wasn't really anything knew to me. I hope, to some extent, the gambit system is revised. Wow, and I thought PS3 and 360 fanboys were bad. Lambak, I have only play FF, FFVII, FFVIII, FFVIX, FFX, FFX-2, FFXI, and FFXII. I have logged at least 100 to 350 hours into the majority and over 220 DAYS (over 5000 hours) in FFXI. I'd guess you haven't even played XI and that I have more FF playtime in that game alone than you do all other FF games combined. So, does my playtime make me more of an afficionado than you? Or does your persistance to play completely outdated games do that? ...

Lord, I agree with everything you've said. BD IS a limitation because it only runs at one speed (the inside and outside of a disc don't spin at the same speed, DVD drives deal with that, BD does not as of yet). Meaning you have to fix this with advanced coding (uncommon) or with downloads (more common).
To the other guy, are you serious? Because a game is made on a DVD it can't be as epic as a game on BD? Right, I suppose that every game made on DVD is more epic than ever...

I played and beat uncharted and the storyline was mediocre at best. RFoM killed it in that aspect. Nor did I really care for the graphics. The foliage looked really cheesy for all of the hype. Not to mention it was a ten hour game with no multiplayer--which Gears has.

Very nice but the SSC Ultimate Aero still wins. Not to mention that speed test run doesn't even register with Guiness (has to be a two lap trial and then the record goes to the average). I always thought the Bugatti was ugly, but that's just me.
Odd how you compare it to GTA, a hugely successful game despite copying the exact same formula over and over again with little to no innovation whatsoever. But how does that make Assassin's Creed broken? Again, where are links stating this? I liked Assassin's Creed just fine. I played the game for what it was and didn't expect anything else out of it.
