As opposed to a sane one of those.
No, it's on the right system. Nintendo is smart to publish and support the development of a game that releases on a console they produce.
Pardon my curiosity, but what is the big problem you see with the 2DS that you would consider it a failure on the level of the Virtual Boy? The Virtual Boy was a failure because it didn't have any good games (even from Nintendo) and because the hardware was just bad.
Last time I checked, the 2DS has almost all of the specs and features as the 3DS. How would you make it affordable? What would you remove to make it less expensive?
Seriously, I want to know....
I will say this: Nintendo's goal of creating a system and just setting it in front of the developers isn't the best way to gain support from them. They need to accommodate the developers better. That's why the PS4 (a "developer's system") is getting such praise from developers of all shapes and sizes.
However, Bethesda is not entirely innocent here either. "I’m going to focus on other ones that better support what it is we’re trying to do,"...
I find it sad that many of the people who are shaping the gaming money market are people who do not understand or even play video games.
The Elgato Game Capture HD is my device of choice. Great tech, easy to set-up and all of the functionality for streaming and instant sharing.
Note that it's ELGATO Game Capture HD. I wonder if IGN realized that they kept calling it ROXIO Game Capture HD in the second paragraph of the section, which is bad, considering how cheaply made Roxio's capture devices are.
Also, you CAN capture from SD consoles with the Elgato. You just use the composite cables...
Nintendo said no to Operation Rainfall. We eventually got it.
Nintendo said no to a Wii U price drop. We eventually got it.
At this point, it's only a matter of time.
Microsoft's argument of "you get to keep the games completely, no questions asked" isn't holding water at all, especially when the games are either old releases or XBLA titles.
If they want to compete with Sony like this, they should at least offer a choice between two or three games each period. They don't even have to be enormous releases, but if there's a choice, there's a better chance of gamers not feeling like the Games for Gold date was wa...
If history serves, the inclusion of Marth and Roy in Super Smash Bros. Melee did contribute (at least a little) to Fire Emblem's eventual localization.
We'll see how long it takes for Nintendo to realize that Earthbound is a big enough success to get a Mother 3 release in North America.
I don't think protecting the screens will be an issue. Many of the tablets these days don't have that little gap between the plastic and the screen itself, yet people hand them off to their kids instantly.
How can you understand the 3DS getting an ambassador program? I'm curious.
I'm pretty surprised that this model is still being pushed. Everyone I know who owns a Vita has the Wi-fi only model and some of them are even AT&T users already.
Is that really the only negative he found with this game? That?
I expected Dead Space 2 after including Dead Space 1 and 3, but that's still not a bad deal at all.
Minecraft has no explicit objective or goal. You literally have to make your own fun. That's what makes it unique and that's what makes it fun.
"On top of these changes, the new CRYENGINE supports development on current and next generation consoles (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U), alongside PC, with further platforms to be added in the near future."
This quote will give the internet an aneurysm.
"...we are very happy with Nintendo and its console, and we think that it well deserves that extra effort."
This one will give it a stroke.
"...those who want to travel faster can now activate Swift Sail, which allows players to directly control the ship's movement by steering the ship itself and move at a faster speed."
Well, considering that my biggest issue with Wind Waker was the sea traversal, this is pretty much my call to buy.
It's hard to believe that this game is finally coming out. One of my most anticipated Wii U games since the launch and from what the review says, it's worth the wait.
Kinda bummed by the reported lower difficulty, though. I thought Origins' main levels' difficulty was right where it needed to be: tough, but with good flow and amazing reward.
...and that is why you get a "Well said" for your comment, my friend.
Adam's right: the push for digital content sales should start by showing a clear advantage in getting it over a physical copy, whether it be early release or just being cheaper. Sony did the reduced price thing with Vita games, but the expensive memory cards kind of defeated the purpose of it.
Nintendo did say that they aren't implying this decision for early digital release with Wind Waker HD to be a trend for them in the future, but I do hope that this move gets the...
