I think it's traditionally unfair to review them separately and so early. For games with big multiplayer components, it's like half the game. Some of the reviewers are comparing the single player campaign to just singleplayer-only games and ignoring the value multiplayer adds to the same package.
Looks insane honestly
It's so dirty and there's no escape, we're all dirty sinners and we will go to gaming hell!
That's why I stick around I think, it's got a good diversity of news and i'm used to the layout, but it's hard to ignore the comment section sometimes.
I know but i said it in anticipation, anything with a perfect score or a really low score turns to shit.
The expanded the campaign to explore and do side missions, they increased the length to 12-20 hours, they added a new escape mode, they added a map builder, they added arcade mode to give more options in multiplayer then just shotties. They are doing everything right this time, i don't know how you could do better to balance the hardcore fans and new players.
Open explorable levels and side missions? Sign me up!
"Horrifyingly risque" is just a play on words headline since it's a horror game, the article doesn't even comment it. Please relax people we get it you're sexually progressive and so so open-minded.
I agree that they haven't shown campaign gameplay but disagree that they're using some extraordinary sales pitch or marketing hype. What non-stop marketing are you talking about that’s any different from any other game? Are you saying any game that hasn’t been fully shown has lead to subpar experience? What about God of war last year which had barely anything shown, much less than Gears?
“And now we are getting first impressions without getting to see it in action.”
...
I would argue that it's literally subverting the definition of marketing hype. What the hell kind of marketing have you been seeing? They didn't even show the campaign at E3, the Gamescom trailer just showed a campaign trailer, and besides that we've just seen the multiplayer modes. No MS AAA exclusive has received this little marketing.
This is the most undermarketed and underhyped Gears game ever, so I'm not sure what sales pitch you're talking about. ...
Which is good because they have undermarketed the game, and the bits and pieces of news coming out sounds amazing. When did we ever have RPG elements, larger explorable missions with a hubs, and 20 hour campaign with side missions. I bet no one even knows this.
I'm glad because if it turns out bad it wasn't overhyped, and if it's good then it'll exceed expectations.
So hypeddd
Yes but I said exclusively different platforms. Astral Chain is on the Switch exclusively, and Control is on everything BUT the Switch, so what is the point of this comparison? They're not even similar games.
Wtf that's amazing. The shit people are creating in Dreams is unreal.
That's a random versus. Both are on exclusively different platforms.
@milohighclub
Yes that's why Rod chose not to have it and went with this organization, but that doesn't make my statement incorrect. What i'm saying is the logic wasn't to start some kind of anti-smoking revolution, or he would just say "it's not in the game because I want to deter people from smoking", why would he go with this organization?
How is there budget for this shit and not enough for Timesplitters 4!
Again it's not about having effect on players, they just want to show that they support that organization.
The people that didn't like last couple of games kept saying that they don't try anything new and it's too much of the same linear gameplay. I think the reviewers should really respect that Gears 5 went for open explorable locations and side missions, and stop comparing it to open world RPGs. Not calling out this review, just saying in general I notice critics tend to compartmentalize and make comparisons instead of appreciating the ambitiousness. They have to take the value of th...
