Looks like generic slop with the cringe flashy Fortnite art-style to draw in 9 year olds.
Very cool art style
Art style and quality graphics are not mutually exclusive, neither are having quality graphics and photo-realism mutually exclusive. That sounds like a convenient excuse to justify low effort and shitty graphics. If graphics were not important the industry wouldn't be pushing for new hardware every few years and developers wouldn't be working tirelessly to improve/optimize graphics engines constantly.
There are plenty of areas where the game is trying to showcase sn...
Honestly bewildering why there is such a lowered benchmark of expectations here (graphically) just because it's a Nintendo Switch game. It's always good if a game's performance is technically smooth, but the way this person is describing the graphics is weirdly hyperbolic as if we're pretending to be in 2006: "fury green is centered around a towering tree stretching towards the heavens with gorgeous ruins of alien architecture offset by lush plant life and flowing water&q...
wow cool that it actually came out. Wish they could do this for consoles.
I think the free online gaming, cheaper games via better steam sales, and access to a much bigger library of games definitely bring a lot of value, but only if it's $100-$200 more. Also important consider that there might be new consoles released in the next couple of years. This thing will have to drop in price significantly to be considered.
Looks great in third person
They probably mean it's going to cost more than a console but less than an equally powerful PC. It's definitely a concern though considering the next generation on consoles could be coming soon which this will have to compete with.
It can't play anything offline from local hardware so without a capable internet connection it's just paper weight. I just can't understand how people justify paying $200 for a streaming device. This really should have been a portable console capable of playing up to PS3 quality games minimum, with the power of streaming PS4/PS5 games over the cloud.
LOL this thing costs almost as much as steam deck and can't play anything on its own offline, there's no real hardware. It's crazy people pay so much for a streaming-only device.
People have already saved hundreds of not thousands over the past 5-6 years since Gamepass came out. Price is bull**** now but it doesn't change the value already received. Also, cloud streaming is available with the two lower Game pass tiers as well, which are $10-$15 per month.
Can't believe the original trilogy hasn't been remade yet while Sony has been remastering the same games 3 times. Would love to see what GOW2 could look like.
Well said. Not to mention Nintendo doesn't even have a service like game pass. You need to pay $80-$90 for any decent game. The 16GB ROG Ally is only $170 more than the switch and much better performing.
WTF! This game has literally everything and everything looks spectacular! I'm thinking it's going to have technical issues or maybe it'll just be a graphical showcase without substance. I don't know, it just seems too crazy to be true.
"get on D-topia"
and the audacity to charge such an absurd price! Who tf keeps buying these things??
$180 LMFAO. How in the world do people play most of those sh*tty games for more than a 5 minutes is beyond me. Nostalgia is great and it's great to be able to enjoy those games for people that want them, but $180 is insane when you can literally get the entire Atari library on any phone in the past 10 years and on hundreds of handheld consoles online for $20.
Looks great but are is there any sunlight or any natural environments? Haven't seen any so far. Hope there is more diversity and they just haven't shown it.
What a random project to be involved in. Maybe he is personally associated with the creator.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 shocks me"
Lol who paid this writer?
It has more to do with the implication this brings in the future. People are worried about lazy development effort and relying on tech like this to take shortcuts. It's optional yes, but there is a possibility that developers will start cutting resources normally put towards facial detail so players are forced to enable this tech. We've also only see cherry-picked examples and even in that you could kinda see that cheap clipping effect that resembles snapchat when the faces turn.88d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment
