That is because you watched something that's meant to be played. Literally by their nature turn-based games can't really be shown off in exciting ways from just videos. Although turn-based games aren't for everyone, including myself, it's not hard to understand why many people love it. It's definitely not a "unique few". After all board games are insanely popular, and they're basically turn-based.

Ironically it supports Gamepass! You just have to download the apk but it works apparently lol.

Highly doubt it. How can you assume every PC player also has a PS4??

Well since it's a genuine question I will give you a genuine response. I'm speaking only for myself here but value comes from games not just exclusives, because at the end of the day we all just play games. Regarding MS games I would have happily paid for Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 if they weren't on Gamepass, Halo of course without a doubt but they haven't released a mainline Halo game since 2015. Then there are a dozen multiplatform games I would have happily paid for as we...

Can't remember the last time I paid for a game on Xbox, sooo much Gamepass content it's overwhelming!

It's not meant to compete with the Switch, that wouldn't make sense. It's just meant to provide options and increase gamepass subscriptions.

Honestly this series is a guilty pleasure I will always play it. I wish it had a bigger budget. I remember Serious Sam 1/2 were known for having a ridiculous amount of enemies on screen and pushed the tech of the time.

That isn't how businesses work. You don't just buy studios as a reaction to your competitor buying studios. These are investments worth billions of dollars. They have a strategy and they will either stick to it or revisit it, but it won't just be a simple counter-buy, specially considering MS didn't just buy a couple of studios they bought out a whole publisher.

"it definitely hurts the developers financially who work day and night on these big first-party AAA games don't you think?"

I don't know what you mean by this. They aren't forced at gunpoint to release games on Gamepass and stripped of profits. If you're talking about first party studios then why would it even matter? The publisher decides and has a bigger financial stake so anything that benefits them also benefits the developers.

I'm sticking to Xbox series X/PS5, value-wise it's a better investment imo. For the price of a next-gen PC you can pretty much get both next gen consoles, and never have to worry about optimization. On the other hand if you can afford a gaming PC, then PS5 is the right way to compliment it.

Although you are right about existing games going exclusive to Xbox/ PC and this not being great news to all gamers, there are some things to consider.

Firstly, this doesn't apply to new upcoming games. There are plenty of studios owned by Zenimax that can work on new franchises.

Secondly, I don't think either Sony or MS has some "moral code" that prevents them from making such acquisitions. We need to stop favouring corporations based o...

Why wouldn't it make sense to do so? It COULD be like Minecraft but they would have to confirm.

Agreed! Launch games always look only marginally better, and launch consoles also tend to have issues.

2096d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

I think they misled them AND that some of this audience is actually stupid. How many generations of consoles have these people seen with the same pattern? New console comes out, most launch games have a previous gen port, and none (except rare exceptions) actually look like they're only possible on next gen consoles. It takes 1-3 years after launch when games really look only possible on next gen.

This is why there never should've been a debate between MS committin...
