The downplay is strong with this one...
I like how all the "negatives" you mention are tied to what the xbox one does is some way. Except 2... I'd rather have games all year (good and bad) than have to wait 8-10 months from the previous year to get a AAA title. Or worse...a poor installment of a first party AAA franchise. Especially when the winter fills up my backlog with games like Fallout!

Have you played the game? Just because the gameplay doesn't follow the status quo does mean it's mediocre.
It has a more defining story than most games released both last gen and this gen. Considering that most of last gen was influenced with the COD parasite that is still sucking away at this generation.

My brother got a PS4 this weekend, and since he's 400 miles away I'm glad I get to enjoy this with the both of us playing online together and experience this.

The Star Wars aspect of the whole game and the amount of detail and gameplay mechanics they have in this game makes it one of the better shooters this year. (Way better than the rehashed COD). Besides no campaign, no other shooter this gen has THAT much immersion into the gameplay environment. You have to give it that.
Waste $60? So if you buy this game and get a solid 15hrs over a couple of weeks...that's an easy $4 per hour of entertainment! Doesn't sound like a wa...
It's a big deal like BC on the Xbox one. The main difference is that they're not crying at the top of their lungs that it's a "Console Seller" feature lol and they're not praising it like its the second coming or that no one else has it when the Wii U had it from the start lol

I could see Sony eventually making ties with Apple to put an app on each of their devices. Effectively giving Apple a key into the gaming community.

You went full fanboy on that man. The Wii U is affordable and has a lot to offer for the majority people (especially those who don't want to be shooting at something in every game they purchase). Not everything has to be compared to Xbox.
If you like the following, it's a pretty straight answer to what console is best for you!
- Top quality exclusives that are packed with plenty of content to enjoy.
- External hard drive support
- Backwards compatibility that trumps the leading console.
- A high quality controller available exclusively to the console and does more than any competing controller.
- A complete focus on franchises that are milked to the core.

I remember last gen on this site it was all sales. Any time someone mentioned exclusives all you'd hear was "exclusives don't matter" from the Xbox camp (it was all about COD marketing). These Xbox marketing guys had no problem yelling out sales figures each month.
Sony was pumping out exclusives left and right. And now the tune has changed for them. Exclusives all of a sudden matter and sales don't on Xbox lol I wonder if they realize it's possible...
There's nothing flawed about it. It's the fact that some of the MS execs (not all) change their tune the moment they score a month of taking NPD. They don't even give it a second thought.
It's a textbook definition of being hypocritical.
This game is a solid 9/10.

All I know is that I'm going to be enjoying this game to the fullest!
Even if I play it for 30 hours over the next month...that'll be $2 an hour well spent. The game has the best visuals, best environments and deeper immersion than any of the other shooters released this year so far. It's a great installment for the Star Wars franchise.

The PS4 is building on itself year after year! I'm stoked for PSX where they show us what focusing on games from the start gets you.
People complain about how it doesn't have monthly updates or it doesn't have a huge lineup in the fall ignoring the whole year. I'd imagine that the people complaining about those things don't realize that Sony not doing those is why they are doing so great this gen (:
