How is that funny?
With that mentality you'd be better off playing the PS3/360 version of any multiplat game. I mean, if you compared them to the current consoles it's only better graphics right?
And a gimmick is something that is made and not supported at all over its product lifespan. Increasing graphical power to any of the available consoles is anything but a gimmick. Having any gaming peripheral with a handful of games is a gimmick.
I just got an Xbox (QB edition). And I'm trying out the gears beta. I am in no way used to the TPS and clunkiness of the game (I know that's the style it has). But it's good! That alone will give hours of play to those who buy it.
But this gears seems to be pushing a lot on the story end rather than the multiplayer end just from the trailers they've shown. The trailer with his initials in the tree hit me in the feels.
No blu-Ray player
$150 HD-DVD add-on with no content
$80 Wi-fi component for early models
Controller Worked off of batteries or wired (early models)
No HDMI
No Bluetooth (Xbox one still doesn't even have this)
The list goes on and on, even with what they listed. The RROD takes the cake overall though as being most memorable.
@Spetic
"Yeah even 4k aside, he has a point. The PS4 is not the best place to play if the PS4.5 or whatever is more superior."
Yet this seems to be a hard concept for many to grasp when comparing graphical potential of current consoles. So by your concept, the PS4 currently is the best play to play in that regard.
I wasn't surprised by the delay.
And I've noticed that a lot of games do that this gen. Show them years in advance as exclusives...ride the hype wave all to only be delayed, cancelled or never heard from again. Thankfully this doesn't happen much with Sony's exclusives. Hoping for a March release next year for this game!
Exclusive edge?
If we're discussing comparing the two then please explain in what way they have an edge? Halo, halo, gears, forza, forza, forza, forza? That's the majority of their MS published games and they all come out within a month of each other during the fall of each year.
How do people honestly defend that sort of practice? And to top it off, the multiplats don't even graphically perform at standards that the competition does, yet people ...
They've been putting out stuff year round year over year. I'm really thankful that they have variety in their first party studios rather than them all being in either racing or shooting genres.
But more so, I'm really glad that it's not just one game in the spring and then all the rest bundled up within a month and a half.
You do realize it's possible to have both good gameplay and solid resolution right?
Why does the aspect of "is the game good" only matter when Xbox is sub-HD? That seems to be the go to rebuttal for every game this gen on the Xbox that isn't 1080p or uses the ridiculous phrase "dynamic resolution".
The streaming is good for what it offers. Being able to not be tied to the same network the PS4 is on is a huge plus and a feature in itself. 720p 60fps is definitely manageable for streaming miles away from the console itself. Network lag is minimal at best if you're above the required internet speed. And the ability to play any game on 6 unique devices is brilliant! Still waiting for other consoles to catch up with the PS4 this gen on gaming features like this.
I need more clues!
720p or 1080p?
Realistic textures and lighting or downgraded textures and lighting?
80+ on metacritic or 77 on metacritic?
Hello
@AngelIceDiamond
You come to an article comparing the graphical changes of the game, which are major changes, and you pull a Donald Trump trying to blame it on me. And so what if I don't have the game or don't plan on spending my money on it anytime soon? With that logic I expect to not see you on any game you don't have interest in.
At least stay on topic if you're going to try and make a point against the fact based observation I, and many others, h...
Salty much? lol
The downgrade is ridiculous.
- Reduced textures
- Reduced resolution
- cinematic visual downgrades (he boat scene is a perfect example)
- poor lighting contrast compared to the original
This is the Xbox in its typical fashion. Sub-par textures, dynamic resolution or full on sub-HD resolution. I don't see why people defend this?
I actually like the fact that we get gaming features rather than silly UI updates. So let's compare streaming because I know where you're getting that from.
Streaming/Remote Play:
Local Connection/Home Wi-fi/Ethernet
Xbox One - 1080p 60fps (PC, Win10 Tablets)
PS4 - 720p 60fps (PC, Mac, Sony Phones, Sony Tablets, PS Vita, PSTV, Other PS4s)
Internet Connection away from home:
Xbox One - Not Possible
PS4 -...
Here's how this works and worked out.
When the Order came out, a bunch of trolls came out and would say "Oh is a no name site. They don't matter even if it's a 8/10 or 9/10". So everyone learned from it. Now when a no name site happens to give a review of a 8/10 or 9/10, those same people say "You see, the critics love it and all the other reviews from major sites aren't reflective of the true score." And that is where the hypocrisy lies a...
"This doesn’t necessarily mean that Quantum Break is a bad game. In fact, quite the opposite. Scoring a 78 on Metacritic is a sign of a solid, positive reception. While it may seem odd that it hasn’t scored quite as high as some other games on the list, this is actually a testament to the quality of Xbox One exclusive titles."
This is what I have been saying. That is just the level of quality of the game that people see it at. Simple as that. People keep trying to d...
I agree with you on this. Playing any game at 720p on anything bigger than a phone isn't great at all. I can't even imagine playing a game at 720p on a 60" tv...bleh. For streaming purposes on a phone though, 720p 60fps is at least a manageable exchange since you're not tied to being on the same network.
My only concern with the video is that the iPhone might be jailbroken. Or this guy is really good at editing videos.
Like every generation, it comes with time. Some sooner than others.
And even then it's possible for that one must have game to be topped by another exclusive that is truly a must have game within its generation.
@Rookie
Never once did I say the game was bad? Is it that hard to read and not make assumptions. It's just ridiculous that the general consensus of reviewers is that the game is at an 8/10, yet everyone is trying to act like only these high scores define the game.
QB is an original game, with solid gameplay mechanics, and with a unique idea of storyline...that is average at best. You have your opinion, and the majority of others have stated theirs. That ...
I just bought an xbox one (QB Edition w/ Alan Wake), so it has the newer version controller with the headphone jack. It serves its purpose, but honestly the xbox one controller is nowhere near its competition or predecessor.
- No Internal Battery
- $25 Play and Charge Kit
- No Bluetooth (its 2016...seriously)
- Had no headphone jack till this past year.
- No touchpad (used as a mousepad for some PC cross play games on PS4)
- No speak...
