Exactly, if Actvision wanted to put CoD on nintendo platforms they would have, they don't need Microsoft to do this, they just know the demograph isn't there, MS are handing out these flimsy '10 year deals' like nobodies business, glad we will see exactly how that would have worked soon.
Obviously this was in development before MS acauired bethesda, but it STILL released in this state under Microsost and Phil's watch, so they are ultimately mostly responsible for it.
Hilarious attempt at damage control by Jez/Windows Central though as usual.
Please tell me you forgot the /s lol
Good enough for gamepass... sigh.
Awful mindset.
Days gone was buggy yes, but it was still fairly good and functional.
Yeah, like when they harped on about Deathloop being amazing in 2021 and Xbox publisher of the year for a game that didn't even release on Xbox that yeah lol.
It's on gamepass so doesn't matter if it's bad.
- Xbox fanboys
Ah, so they offered them a 10 year deal, nice!
The actual direct quotes from the article makes it sound more like they think they will walk away rather than provide heavy concessions which would make the overall deal much less appealing, CMA have already rejected it on the basis of the procedural compromises supposedly already offered, which turns out didn't go a long way from the information shared.
Might start my own cloud gaming company tomorrow, I'm sure I'll get a 10 year deal within the first 30 seconds of opening for business.
oh look, 21 downvotes on every reply hahahaha
how much we betting the 10 year deal offered to sony had the same condition? If so no wonder Sony told them to stuff it where the sun don't shine.
Gotta laugh at the botted downvotes suddenly appearing in the last couple of hours on playstation fans and the same amount of upvotes appearing on xbox fanboy comments, someone is VERY upset about this deal being blocked, and I can take a few guesses as to who the culprit is hahahaha.
lmao look at the dislikes on you both, some sad saps on the other side of the fence be botting.
'The prices of games have mounted to a point where people are not buying games as much....this whole situation is by design to push towards a path of subscription.'
This might be the case on Xbox because they've all been devalued to be being subscription fodder, Sony and Nintendo titles fly off the shelves in droves.
'If noise needed to be made it should have been so when Sony raised the prices of their games to $70....I did not see an out...
"Yes to all of that. Is it safe to assume that you just don't want to pay full price for Call of Duty?"
It's that on top of just wanting a one up over Sony, whereas now all games will remain everywhere for much longer, if not forever but that's not good enough, they don't get to stick it to Sony or get their 'fwee' Call of Duty :(
p.s I've absolutely no idea what he's getting at with that reply to you, insomniac w...
Nah this doesn't compute with MS, they just want to put their logo on bought IPs and act like they are gods gift to the industry.
That's honestly amazing, I put a lot of time in to 4, 5 and later 6 as a teen, will have to get on these soon myself.
I'll never be interested in a subscription based streaming rental service, if this ever becomes the norm it won't be for a long time, recent PS5, and the last several years of Switch sales numbers suggest dedicated console gaming is still very much desired.
Yeah this honestly, the PS3 aftera wobbly couple of years was outperforming the 360 in the games department significantly, the 360 had a strong 2005-08 but it really started to fall off games wise from 2009/10, Xbox hasn't hit that same peak since.
