The fact that millions of people continually play the game is not a testament to the sales or marketing of the game, which many haters are quick to use as a bulletpoint. That people still play it is a testament to the quality of the game, the continual level of fun and enjoyment that it provides to a large number of people. And the tech behind RAGE isn't better than the tech behind God of War 3 or Killzone 3. There's a lot of stuff going on on-screen in those games. RAGE looks fantastic but static.

That is a stupid analogy. A video game is nothing like a car. If a game is fun to play, then no one cares about the graphics. And if a game isn't fun to play, then no one cares about the graphics.
Bottom-line: The graphics or technical yahoo of a game mean absolutely nothing 100 percent of the time. Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda have never been about technical innovation. But they are fun to play and are immortalized by that aspect. 10 years from now people...

The next-gen isn't solely about HD. And HD is a dynamic label. 2 years from now, only 1080p will be considered high definition. And 5 years after that, some other larger number will be considered high definition.
