The way the soldiers held the guns. They held them like they weighed only a few pounds, which in real life they probably did, but the actors should have held them like they weighed 20 pounds or something.
Secondly, those guns looked like the AR from Halo 3, which looks terrible compared to the Reach model. And they looked too plasticky.

PS fans were not trash talking the Mass Effect franchise.
