It isn't for me. I tried it and I just don't play enough variety of games anymore. I tend to focus on 3-4 games throughout a year anymore and so Game Pass's vast catalog of titles is really lost on me. Also, the vast majority of games on Game Pass are normally $20 or less if purchased outright, and the rest are $30 or less when there are sales throughout the year. Then there is situations like Starfield which is on Game Pass but the DLC is not on Game Pass so you have to spend ext...
Sony is advertising the Pro as being capable of playing Quality modes in games at a full 60 fps.
I'm actually just hoping for more stable framerates in a number of games. The Elden Ring DLC, for example, really increased the complexity of the world to the point that now PS5 is typically 45-55 fps in those areas on performance mode. I'd like to see a stable 60 fps in Elden Ring without having to rely on the PS4 version being played on a PS5.
I don't think any of this will matter. Corporate greed will result in GaaS features ruining this one too.
These games are basically why I keep my 3DS in good shape. It would be nice to finally completely retire it but still need Link's Awakening and Return of Samus to come to modern systems.
I'm kinda waiting for their PC review before deciding which version to buy between PS5 and PC. Traversal and shader compilation stuttering sucks but if it is occasional and under 100ms when it happens I would rather have that than a consistently bad frame rate.
I think it is going to be unavoidable in a lot of AAA titles going forward if you want resolutions >1080p at decent frame rates.
I think it is Apple mimicking art galleries and museums for their stores.
I should have played on an easier difficulty. This game gets pretty tough!
I'm worried about all the awesome rom hack videos too. It would be super tragic if those were purged from YouTube and now allowed anymore.
Pretty much my same thoughts but I somehow managed to put 20 hours into it. I also did a lot of the main story and it never developed into anything I was interested in. I did a handful of sidequests and they were all incredibly boring delivery-type quests and find things in the city quests. It was really baffling to me that I still managed to drop so much time here. Must be that ambient bethesda music that lulls me.
I'm really hoping Elden Ring performs perfectly on the PS5 Pro. I'm fine staying in performance mode, I just hate that the DLC content runs between 40-55fps most the time.
I don't care. Can I just get a Mega Man 12 and a new Resident Evil game that isn't a remake?
It isn't about defending the shitty price, it is acknowledging what I do with my free time which is mostly play my PS5. I'm well into my career, and have a disposable income. Top of the line gaming PCs and high-end gaming consoles really are not that expensive compared to how much my peers are spending on their hobbies and on travel.
There are games that can do 120fps just fine on PS5 like Doom Eternal.
Honestly, I find it amusing how all the incel hater left over rejects from gamer's gate lose their shit every time a non-scantily clad female protagonist is announced. Lol, they should just get out of gaming -- clearly it isn't for them anymore.
I think people wanting to put together a gaming PC right now as an alternative to a PS5 Pro (which it really isn't) shouldn't spend less than $1,000. If I shop around I can cobble together a nVidia 4070 (non-super) paired with an AM4 mobo+ram bundled with a 5700X3D add a case, power supply, M.2 SSD, and that is around $1,200. Much better than a PS5 Pro since it would be a much better processor. Trying to get to that $700 price point introduces too many compromises and wouldn't be ...
Exactly. People really try to frame it as an either-or-scenario but that just isn't right. Gaming is a hobby and a relatively cheap one as an adult. Most people interested in a PS5 Pro already have the $2,000 gaming PC. They aren't interested in one or the other but just having the best gaming experiences.
"There is no beating around the bush, to spend that much money at once is not for everyone. You can safely say that PS5 Pro is a luxury product."
It's not, though, in the same way that smartphones are not considered luxury products.
I'm planning on getting one because I'm a gamer and would like to have the best experiences in gaming. But please, don't gaslight me with this nonsense when the optical drive and stand add $110 to the price tag when they should be included.
FOMO tied with job-like mechanics. Oh boy! Where do I sign up for this one?!? /s
