Microsoft's board needs to fire this CEO. He has been a disaster IMO. Windows and XBox brands have never been in a worse state. Steve Ballmer was a better CEO. Satya Nadella's only concerned with one thing: shoving Bing and Copilot down everyone's throats. They invest so much in redirecting us to stuff we don't want to use instead of making it something we want to use.
Mark Cerny said that "PS5 players will choose Performance mode 3 quarters of the time" which doesn't align with what this former-dev is saying. Basically, if a performance mode is present, 75% of players are using it.
DF addressed this in their last direct. Basically: don't get your hopes up on that. Given that Rockstar games lean hard into simulation, it will likely be the CPU that is the bottleneck and the PS5 Pro didn't get much of a CPU boost (about 5-10% at most).
True. At the same time, developers have to get everything play tested (or should be) prior to releasing to the public and ensure broad support with hopefully limited issues. Modders don't have those release requirements or support requirements.
Oh nice! I'll just use my Edge controller with my PC when this comes out. Only reason why I have a separate controller for my PC currently is because it is too much of a hassle re-pairing the controller every time I want to use it.
The boomerang in "A" rank is a friggen injustice done. If I'm in the back and get a boomerang I've basically lost the game. No coming back from such a terrible item drop. Boomerang should be "C" or "D". Come on...
You don't have to do all the side stuff. Just saying.
It is an online multiplayer game but it is not a GaaS because there isn't an integrated real-money shop, things like "battle passes", and FOMO mechanics.
Did they fix the periodic stutter that happens on VRR displays that has been an issue since the PS5 Pro launch?
I was able to get one by checking Best Buy, Target and Walmart websites daily. Best Buy had them in stock and was able to snag one last week. I think that if you want one you should be able to get one at retail but it takes some time and work.
I haven't tried any of the DLC but the main game is great and seriously underrated.
I was really enjoying this game until it opened up into a bunch of side quests, then I just kinda loss interest in it. It is a fun game and I just need to focus on the main story quests and knock it out. There is something about opening a map and seeing a bunch of "Todos" that makes my stomach turn these days. Games need to move on from that chore model.
It is hard to say much until we get sales numbers. It could be that Nintendo was just perfectly able to meet their projected demand and produce enough to also stock shelves. Selling out doesn't really mean much. Like, it would be super weird for Apple to sell out of a new iPhone anymore -- it would mean they messed up somewhere on their supply chain, it wouldn't mean the iPhone was super popular that year.
Options are fine. I'm someone who after having Game Pass for 2 years (as it came bundled with my Series X), I found that I really did not utilize it fully. I'd rather just own the games outright even if it means buying a few games that I don't get into.
Armored Core 6 supports 120+ fps. It isn't like From doesn't know.
I love the visuals and I think they look absolutely great. Games don't need GPU breaking lighting models in order to be fun.
Bringing my gaming PC down stairs and hooking it up to my entertainment center was a game changer for me. I rarely touch my PS5 anymore and I really only consider buying games for PC.
For a Quake 1 remake a complete overhaul of episodes 2-4 would be necessary IMO. I mean like, scrapping a lot of levels and starting over.
It is pretty non-forgiving compared to DS3. In DS2 if you don't have enough Stamina for an action you don't do the action -- in DS3 and Elden Ring if you have 1 stamina point it will let you do whatever you want basically. It is really hard to adjust to this difference.
Also, I think it is the Adaptability stat that I forgot to put any points into nearly 30 levels into the game and I feel like I'm currently hosed.
It would be a day 1 purchase for me, had it included Gradius 4 and 5. At $40, though, idk - it is kinda on the high side considering I've purchased all these games before on other systems and this is basically just an emulation bundle (minus the new Salamander game).
