Not really bothered by that, there won't be any competitive part to it or real rankings so its just something fun to play with friends.
He says he wants no more boring "cash ins", Halo has had Halo3, ODST and Reach this gen, thats 3 FPS games over a 6 year period nothing cash in about that. Halo Anniversary was a game people wanted redone in HD so they got it, Halo Wars was a RTS game so doesn't even count.
Assassins Creed to some extent can be seen as a cash in with new versions every year, but they at least seem to be progressing and getting better each time so that's progress.

LOTRO free is very limited you need to pay a subscription to get everything. Guild Wars was free but it was more a lobby based game than an MMO, Guild Wars 2 will have a cash shop supporting it, but it does look like a great game. WOW is not free, free up to level 20 in a game with 85 levels is like letting you play world 1 level 1 of mario for free and saying the whole game is free. STO is just a terrible game, just like champions online also made by cryptic.
Played it for 80 hours and got most of the way through Inferno, well worth the box price. I will go back to it when they add PvP, until then I can't be bothered grinding to get items that in turn just make it easier to grind to get items.
It's only in alpha just now, its going to be a good year or more before this makes it as a game on its own, so people will still buy ARMA2 now just to get to try it out, it's only £20.
I've put around 60 hours in to the alpha so far, as a retail game with even more features I think I would lose my life in this game!
I'm not harpy with this article.
I suppose WoW was designed for consoles graphics wise then too?
Guild Wars 1 with its limited skills at a time system, was that on consoles?
Blizzard are sensible and want as many people playing there game as possible, having it run on almost any system from the last 3 years makes good business sense.
I will probably buy it too, like you I won't get it on day 1, but usually near release you will find it on offer in certain places for around half price. I got MW3 one week after release for £25 which I feel is a fair price for a yearly release game like this, I won't be duped into paying £45 ever again.
It's really hard to tell, but that quelaag artwork I don't think is part of the same set like other people have said, its taken straight from dark souls art. Quelaag wasn't that significant a boss that she would make an appearance in another souls game either I don't think.
Lore wise there were a lot more important characters they could have included.
in fact if you do a google search for the boss it's the first picture that comes up from...
Thats my point though, Dark Souls means something to someone that played it and the people that made it.
Name a game or movie or book or play that is not a "waste of time"?
Any leisure activity is a waste of time, you aren't working, you aren't saving the world. So is sleeping a waste of time too?
As has been said already, Dark Souls actually has some great lore, you just have to actually find it. The story of the game is not thrust in your face you have to actually seek it out.
The whole game is one of trial and error and learning as you go, after you escape the asylum and land at firelink shrine its up to you pretty much to decide what area you go to, and what parts of the lore you want to learn about.
It comes off as vague because people are used t...
Bullshit.
I worked on San Andreas at Rockstar North. That is the branch of Rockstar that makes every main GTA game and it is located in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Some work was outsourced to other rockstar studios but it was mostly QA stuff.
They wouldn't let him in the building without signing an NDA, nevermind work there.
The standard NDA I signed when going for my interview and then working prevents you from talking about an...
gamesindustry.biz has been around for years, its not a major news site for games, its an industry news website. It is not the type of place to make up sensational headlines just to get hits like some place such as IGN or gamespot or a site made by a guy in his bedroom.
I hope for the love of god it has cross game chat!
I just spent last night with my Xbox on using party chat to speak with my friend as we both played Dark Souls on PS3!
Couldn't agree more, I clocked 3000 hours on SOCOM 2 and 1000 on SOCOM1, then about 500 on SOCOM3, then about 20 on SOCOM4, that sort of says it all.
SOCOM2 was THE online game for the PS2, like halo was for the xbox. MS got right behind Halo and everyone still loves it, SOCOM got left out in the cold, passed around devs and then Call of Dutied into oblivion.
Really sad end to the series, SOCOM was the game that got me into gaming and got me my first job ...
Giant Bomb didn't write that, its a users opinion piece, anyone can submit these to giant bomb since its just a big game wiki. This holds no more weight than what someone posts in the comments section of N4G.
The tattoos are terrible but the guy seems to have a problem with tattoos in general judging by the tone of the piece.
I'd love something like that, most of the call of duty games I put 6 hours or less in the single player, same with Halo Reach. I spent hundreds of hours in multiplayer though, if I could pay half price for just the multiplayer it would be fantastic.
