I think by making the game always online, puts it in the MMO category. If you have to be online to even play single player, then any drop in server traffic has to point to less people playing it. People played D2 for years and years after it was released, so the notion that people have just played through it already and are done shows that D3 is simply not as good as its predecessor.
I think everybody is misinterpreting the whole $299 price point in those leaked documents. Which has lead to the whole $99 subscription idea. Two things will make or break this game for me. 1)Can I customize my cars and upgrade them like the original. 2)Is there a fast travel mechanic like the first one. I don't want to have to drive all the way back to the beginning of a race to restart it. I also want to be able quickly to jump to my garage.

That way when next gen hits they can charge us $80 for a game and $30 for dlc thats already on the disc. Plus its about optimization. Developers can squeeze more from the tech thats in the consoles because every console is exactly the same. Show me a pc game that looks as good as some of the games we've seen on consoles in the last year running on a pc built in 2005.

Meh, these news agencies just fear what they don't understand. They don't realize just how big gaming is. Did they honestly think that all the people that grew up playing atari and nintedo just quit playing games at 25yrs old? Hell I'm 37yrs old with a wife and 3 nearly grown children and we are all gamers. I just don't think the media gets that. Just because we get old doesn't me we stop playing!
The big deal is this is supposed to be a next gen console. I'll bet money when the other two systems launch their games won't be running 720p. The first games on a new console don't look as sharp as the games later on in the cycle, but they damn sure look better than whats on the market at the time of launch!

I don't think Nintendo has time to wow gamers down the line. Lets face it, one of the other two console makers are gonna start stealing headlines with their next gen hardware in the next 6-8 months. Your right I hate the Wiiu, But only because you can't play Halo 4, The Last of Us, Beyond, Splinter Cell, RE6, Hitman, South Park, or any other number of games that aren't in the Wiiu launch line up that everybody else will be playing this fall. Nintendo Land must be stunning in 1080p.

Your just biased. The two conferences pretty much followed the same path. Halo 4 looked sick as did The Last of Us. But you can't sit there and say the whole wonder book thing wasn't as annoying as the Usher dance central thing. Both companies then turned to the smart phone and tablet thing, touting their entertainment services. To me sony gained the edge with Beyond:Two Souls. I figure that there will be about 5 different versions of the new box at launch. All with different set ups to try and appeal to the broadest audience.
