How this is such a shock to ever body is beyond me. This generation has stuck around longer than any before it. Market saturation has to be expected by now. If you look at all the excellent games to release in 2011, none of them really brought any real innovation to the table. Graphically most of the those games looked damn good, but nothing that we haven't seen before. Nothing that made your jaw smack the floor.

Agreed. Its hard to buy a console for some one as a gift if they already have one. I don't really know what people expect, the Xbox is going on it's 7th year and Ps3 is on its 6th year. I know that these console makers wish the 10yr life would work, but it seems sales are saying different. What do you think these numbers would look like 3-4 years from now if they wait that long for the next gen. I think we'll see new systems much sooner than most people think.

Rumor has it that the reason a Halo movie has not made it to the big screen is because studios are afraid to make a movie where the main character always wears a helmet and has so many unknowns about his past. I agree. It really felt that way this fall when all the major titles hit. Out of all the stellar games to launch none of them completely floor me. Uncharted 3 was the one that really stood out. I take nothing away from the game, it was truly supreme. But I was so expecting the graphical leap that I seen between 1 and 2, and when it didn't happen I was a little disappointed. Uncharted was not the only game this fall that left me feeling this way by no means.
