Since the NES days used games have been a huge part of the gaming industry. Why is it suddenly a huge problem now? The gaming industry still brings in so much profit as it is.

The game industry makes a ton of money off of games already, it is in no harm or showing any signs of a collapse and the developers even makes tons of money off of a desired career.

What confuses me most (when people argue for game pass)is why they would want and support something taken away from them. To not have game rentals or used games does not benefit consumers what so ever. The argument from people latley is they would happily pay more just because they hate game stop ...

"developers that was effected by the used and rental gaming markets for years now?"

So I suppose you'd support a movie pass as well so those "evil" movie rental places would stop taking away from the multi million in-taking movie industry?

The game industry too makes a ton of money off of games already, it is in no harm or showing any signs of a collapse and the developers even makes tons of money off of a desired career.

PSN Pass is a horrible idea.

"Yea I just don't get it. Why rip off the developers to get someones old crappy game, rip off the developer and make gameslut rich."

It is not ripping off developers to buy a pre-bought game that someone wanted to sell because they lost interest in the game.

With game pass, how do game rentals work anyway? There are a lot of games on the market that just aren't worth a 60$ price tag and are bet...

It sounds to me like you played the game for about 30 mins and gave up on it and suddenly you are an expert on this game.

Sure the developers that created demons souls didn't have a budget such as EA, but to say no creativity was put in the game is bull. The combat, good. The leveling system, very good. Enemy design, I'm guessing you haven't seen any of the bosses on this game. The overall atmosphere, also creative.

In a rpg deprived generation th...

Personally, I feel it is important to own both a gaming pc and console to really understand what each of them brings. I'm not going to say either one is better then the other, but each offer advantages over the other.

Have consoles succeeded over pc's in gaming? Absolutely not, A PC gamer understands why.

Bethesda games always have one of the best mod communities. They are all great games to showcase why people game on pc's over consoles. This isn't a knock on consoles in any way, I own a PS3 as well.

Console mods, while a interesting idea, just isn't as intricate and popular as on a pc.

@UnwanteDreamz

My agruement is more satirical then literal...

"Sony owns PSN at no time in your games buying or selling have you purchased PSN. You therefore can not resell something you never owned."

That is the point, Sony is going in a direction that all games are going to be through the psn or bypasses the middle man in some way. Just look at the psp, the sales are regulated by Sony via the psn, where are the actual copies of th...

It's also a communistic system of controlling the market. If you buy property shouldn't it be your property? Shouldn't you be able to put it into the "free market" sell it, make a lot of money on rarities (sukodien 2), trade it in when you get tired of it for a different game. putting it out in the free market, gamestop can make money they still have to follow the law of supply and demand. This law ensures that I get a fair deal when I buy a game.

If the...

they're just trying to get money from used game sales...Why is that such a big deal.

because games are 60$.

Sony wants to control the market by eliminating the middle man as much as possible. They aim to have digital downloads at a set price, see the psp. They are now aiming at eliminating used games, a practice that has allowed people to buy games at a reasonable prices for a few decades.

Now watch R3 stay at a high price (60 bucks to pl...

vs13 shows potential with the return of airships and exploration. It seems to have everything 13 didn't. I know people are hating how delayed it is, but at least they are trying to make this game right. I'm glad SE isn't rushing this out the door by scraping the world map, ect. just so it can be released by a specific date. That is what made 13 into a watered down version of the series.

I do agree that this game will either be a breaking point or a saving grace fo...

Are people too young to remember how great jrpg's were prior to this generation?

ps1 and ps2 jrpg's > 360 & PS3 wrpg's.

I'd prefer not to get 3 consoles plus a gaming pc every generation, mostly because I can't afford that. If everything was exclusive there would be a lot of multiplatform games us one console owners would be missing out on.

FF13's biggest problem is that most of the development was spent on the cg cut-scenes rather then the actual game play. The linearity, lack of towns and real npc's with real shops made this game a failure as far as the FF series goes.

While the game is still fun to play it is impossible to not notice these flaws. FF13-2 is more of the same, SE should have spent more time on improving actual game play elements such as exploration and in game towns. Instead they are jus...

I'm not sure if the cross fire (two graphics cards) motherboards is really that important. It does not double your graphic performance, it is only marginally better. One 6970 or one GTX 570 should do the trick.

It is more important to have a good processor, a i5 or i7 quad core processor or a amd quad core to support the graphics, 3+ cores is very important to today's games.

Also, future gaming is going in a 64 bit direction so go with 4 - 8 gigs of m...

"THREE Nvidia graphic cards ( 580's ) that cost a combined $1,500"

Now that is just insane. I have one radeon 5770 for a combined 130 dollars and am still ahead of consoles.

How can you call yourself a gamer and not care about specs?

If you don't understand how computers work that is fine. But in 2011, with a young generation fully ingrained with computers, many people will disagree with that statement.

motion control is dead.

@Bigpappy
I hope not, Kinect is also a failure. It was released 5 years late as Nintendo has already played the motion control market... It's done now. The next wii is even moving on from motion controls.

there are so many genres it's hard to make a top upcoming list.

Mine is Skyrim, but that is because I like rpg's. If I liked fps then battlefield 3 would be number one. Something for everyone I guess.

Witcher 2 is actually a huge upcoming release for the 360.
