@ MrMagoo..Sony's track record indicates they take away, not giveth. Yes they've had a rock star type 8-9 months, but that doesn't erase the previous generation where they took backwards compatibility and the option to have a second OS. Not to mention the shear amount of extras that were on a launch PS3 60 gig that they took away as well.
you are absolutely right. He's basically adding $50 for safety. My bad, reading comprehension..sometimes you have it, sometimes you're me. lol
Good blog. I can appreciate you trying to bring more gamers into the world of PC games. Only 2 things caught my attention as maybe a little off. You say that after 5 yrs you'd be at about $1800 or so. Rounding that up an additional $700 is incredibly confusing/overkill. You have to remember there are a ton of gamers who literally only buy COD and Madden. That's it. Also I have never met one single gamer that pays full price for all of there games. Outta 30 games, most might pay full p...
I actually use the media center almost every day. If I'm making dinner for the kids, or cleaning up, or just having a "dance party" with my kids and wife, the media center is what I use. There is however an incredibly simple solution to this problem...just keep your PS3 hooked up right next to your PS4. I think maybe we've been spoiled here by the PS4. I can't remember any console having such an unblemished launch (on the flip side I've never seen such a botched upco...
@majin
completely agree. I'm 30 married with children, to take my son to gamestop or best buy and dual search for games is something that's just not possible with digital. Some ISP's have data caps, which causes a massive problem if you do anything else. Also I am that idiot that still has every single system I've ever owned, and still occasionally bust them out. Lets say I put my PS3 away for a few years, lets say 10, come back to play it, find out my hard drives gone...
I'm here too. I'm all for a different forum here for gamers that don't need to put other gamers down for their personal choice in console or PC. It's amazing what this hobby as turned into. Apparently it's a sin here to be excited for Infamous SS and Ryse/titanfall. I'm also a sheep for liking the single player campaign in COD. According to this site I'm also 12 for still enjoying Mario. Anyone else remember the days were you'd go to a friends house because the...
@ Hicken, he's not trolling, he's just a misinformed gamer stuck in 2007.
@Majie
But the console is almost a year old, and honestly it's terrible start. It's not a good thing that you sold 100k a month and that's when you triple your sales. At this rate, if the wii u was out for 5 years, that'll sell right around 6 million consoles. That's not a good start. That's a disaster.
@thechosenone
so what? I have a 60" plasma LG TV with 20/20 vision. I sit probably 8-10 ft away, I can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, let alone 900p, and, with up scaling you won't either. Resolution between 900p and 1080p only comes into play with a computer monitor that you are sitting close enough to smell. Move on.
@lior. So console gamers are little children yet you insult them for their personal choice. Oh the irony.
Yes you can build a power PC or steam box that'll blow consoles outta the water. However for some the console games are just fine graphics wise. And some people prefer to know when they buy a game they don't have to worry about if their hardware can run the game. Than there are people who just aren't into building and upgrading hardware. There are also people...
@ Kweit...yet
And than 10 mins later you hit your isp's data caps and are charged an extra $400 a month just to play a game. If this happens anytime I'll be a PC only gamer. At least ill still be able to play my games if/when a hacker decides they're bored and shut down the service.
I'll keep rooting for Nintendo, but they need more adult oriented exclusives or it's just gonna be the Gamecube all over. The casuals that bought the Wii have moved onto tablet gaming. I think $299.99 for the Zelda bundle is actually fairly decent value, but when your pushing sales with a 10 yr old game "remastered" you know you are a in a world of trouble. Zelda WW should have been a $15 e shop nice addition, it's not a system seller. I'm not sure what marketing is ...
How is a company greedy because they don't want you stealing content? If you live in NA and they run a sale for their European customers to maybe stimulate stagnant sales, you think it's just ok to steal it because it wasn't released in your particular region? And it's not a glitch, it's called making a fake account and stealing no matter what way you wanna swing it. If you wanna say MS is greedy, just point at the other 100 things that point to MS's greed, but banning...
@Pedro. Yeah I was a little surprised that Blop 2 sold more on the PS3. Goes to show you how much money MS is wasting by paying for timed exclusive content.
Thought it was originally gonna be $500 with the camera, but they decided against making it mandatory and dropped the price to $400. I could be mistaken though.
Or that developers told them 4 wasn't gonna cut it and they listened.
@Timl241
You are assuming that every single gamer is going to upgrade within the first month, where they'll be lucky to have 2-3 million consoles even manufactured before the end of 2013. So most people are using GTA5 and other upcoming current gen titles as buffers until the supply meets the demand, or until they can afford to drop $600 on a system with games.
@ Edonus, I agree with you to an extent, as in it's pathetic/amazing how many people all of a sudden got CS degree. And how many people heard a rumor, commented as fact, and once it was straighted out, they ran with the rumor anyway even if it was wrong.
However, requiring me to be connected to the internet every 2 days was/is a deal breaker for myself, as would requiring the kinect to work. Those 2 "turn arounds" saved me as a customer. Without them, it'd b...
This is great news, but if the system had the ability the whole time, why shut it out to begin with?
