All Microsoft wanted was to be the software imprint on consoles, hence the origninal plan to buy Nintendo and Sega and start their business there. Could this be a variation of the holodeck in the leaks last year? Technology will come down to this. No more needing tv's. Everything will be projected and of course what the prior poster stated, immersion. Imagine this tech shrinking as most tech does and it fits into a watch or a ring and you can have this holothingy around wherever you go. A webcam can't do in-depth tracking and if it was dark the eyetoy couldn't detect, that is why it doesn't have infrared skeletal tracking system. Yeah a little different, lol.
They came in second the first gen, ahead of Nintendo's Gamecube and more than double their customer base from a towering ps2 marketshare. I think they will do fine. I knew it. Halo 4 reference was the infinity. Xbox 8 would coincide with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. Also it would be ahead of the ps4 and the n7 wii-u. X8. I think it will be Xbox Infinity though and not Infinite. Also this marks the end of consoles. Nexgen will be totoally different than the current and nexcurrent style.

It's not a hard concept. The only thing you need is the triple core processor. The memory can be shared, beef up the eDRAM to 32 MB instead of 10 and a newer ATI video card with x86 cpu. The only tricky part would be to use the triple core dual thread alongside the 8 core x86. If they can achieve that, they would have a clear advantage. Triple core running at 3.2 ghz w/dual threads to work alongside 8 x86 cores w/32 mb eDRAM and 8 GB DDR3? Bring it on Micro!

I think that there is some truth in that. Nintendo didn't differentiate the Wii from WiiU that much! Even has a similar name! Problem with that is that most are fine with the Wii. I like how everyone is a market analysis expert and know more than the consultants and execs at both Microsoft and Sony. The days of consoles are winding down.
