What is the actual fear here? Are we afraid that Sony are just gonna hand us a big pile of circuit boards and wires and tell us to find our own damn box to put it in. I honestly don't usually go for these anti-Sony conspiracy theories but this one really does sound insane. People actually acting like Sony are hiding something because they didn't show the plastic box the thing comes encased in.
The plastic outer casing on the system is not finalised yet...... So.... Did t...
Surely more realistic violence is a good thing? Surely it's more mentally damaging to slice a guy with a sword and have him flash in and out of existence for a second or two then explode, leaving behind a nice roast turkey you can eat and feel instantly healthier?
Look at the way it happened with the movies, back in the old days audiences would cheer on massacres as cowboys slaughtered dozens upon dozens of 'savages' who would die by letting out a high pitched yell ...
I haven't played a WiiU yet so it might be a great console but from a business standpoint it seems like a weird misstep. The Wii was clearly such a smash because there were a huge number of people who thought, 'You mean I can play videogames without having to learn how to use all those buttons?' The idea of simply swinging your arm to play virtual tennis the way you would real tennis clearly attracted non-gamers. Those people didn't care about having the most advanced graphi...
Very pleasantly surprised. Still I can't say I'll be picking it up soon just because I've more than had my fill of this kind of plot and setting after Far cry 3. It's good to know its out there though for next time I get in the mood for this kinda thing and can't decide what to play.
Are any of the PS4 game trailers up for download on PSN yet? It's annoying not being able to find a version that actually shows what the games will look like in full crisp detail. Most give a decent impression of the lighting etc and the amount of things going on on screen but the details are still too blurry and pixelated to properly get an idea of how it will look being played on my TV.
Nice, I already own the HD collection for PS3 but I'll gladly play through it again on the Vita.
I really think most current Gen franchises should end with this gen, especially this one. I want fresh new experiences, not the same boring old thing with a new coat of paint.
The pre-show stuff I watched was mostly people complaining that they expected Sony just to come out, show us the plastic case of the console then maybe just maybe show a super fast montage of snippets of game teases then that would be the end of the show.
The post-show stuff was mostly people complaining that they showed us everything but the plastic game casing.
.....sigh.
But it's NOT mature content, that's the problem. David Cage's films are pure shallow adolescent cheese disguised by moody piano soundtracks and shoehorned 'mature' subject matter, all the while retaining the same clichè writing, one dimensional stereotypical characters and Pervy forced T and A of any Hollywood popcorn flick.
The creators of games like Journey and Braid are more likely to bring us gaming's Citizen Kane (if they haven't already)....
I still want to be as optimistic and excited for this game as I was on viewing the first gameplay demo just like I still want to love and respect the people making it but dammit they're not making it easy.
Who are you defying by looking forward to this game? /GrammarNazi
Seriously though. I understand that the game was running on PC but it wasn't even close to the best looking game shown at the conference. People are acting as if this one game blew people's minds graphically whereas the others merely sat there. Even if this particular demo was running on a PC it's clear that the PS4 can handle it easily.
I understand it due to the completely different architecture but it is gonna be annoying having to have both consoles awkwardly stacked on top of each other in my gaming cabinet for a few months until I exhaust my PS3.
I had my issues with the conference but holy crap do I love that controller. I was so sure we were getting a giant mess with a flashy screen on it. It turns out the move light isn't even obnoxiously obvious. I really can't find fault with the controller.
You can see my other comments tonight to see that I'm not just a blind fanboy dismissing any criticism but I honestly don't know what the hell people are complaining about with this. You saw the PS4 in every sense that really matters. You saw what it does and how you interact with it. Seeing the plastic outer casing that the machinery is wrapped in will be a cool fun thing but I hardly see how it's this big deal its being made out to be. its being put across like Sony are hiding s...
I hate to say it but I wasn't too impressed. I wasn't devastated or even really disappointed but I certainly wasn't wowed. For every game shown I would be amazed if you told me it was running on a PS3 but I would probably believe you. Of course it's not just about the graphics but then what else was shown? The games we got to see actual clips of we're the same old shooting and whispering 80's catchphrases in a gravelly voice. I'm always interested in the work of Me...
I'm just a little sad that we're clearly approaching the limit of what game graphics can be. I've got no doubt that no other console will look better than this but I think the fact that we've seen this game before and weren't sure whether it was current or next gen shows how small the leap is gonna be.
This kind of technology for a 3d Littlebigplanet type game will be amazing but I'm not even sure that's what they were going for. I didn't really understand what was being presented to me.
Looks technically great and an Infamous in a more futuristic environment is exciting but I hate that we're clearly playing as yet another cocky young douche putting on his 'cool guy' voice. Does anybody actually want to play as these kinds of characters?
Damn this guy is a car fetishist. I'm half expecting him to whip it out right there.
I wasn't disappointed by the games shown in as much as they didnt look as bad as I feared they might but in all honesty there was a little part of my brain hoping they would look like that Samaritan tech demo and that small part of me was sad to be brought back to reality. Side to side comparisons of the next gen gameplay we've seen against current gen games will clearly show an obvious improvement but I don't think what we've seen so far is going to absolutely blow the mind o...
