Hooray. This is one of probably only two games I've been excited for recently (the other being the Last of us but that still feels decades away) but over the past few days I had become a little worried this was going to be one of those 'What went wrong?' type of games. Still a teensy bit worried what with the exclusive review and all but pretty confident this is gonna be as great as I had hoped.

I think the strategy is pretty clear. They want people to see the box on the shelf at a store, recognise the name and buy it before they know anything about the actual game. It's a pretty smart scam to be fair.
The marketing has already been done by the comic book and TV show. Actually letting people know anything about this game before they buy it can only hurt sales.
I'm in the same boat as you, wanting to create my own game but having no idea how. I just haven't had the stones to actually stop procrastinating and try and do it. Hopefully I can use your blog to either decide I can do it to or realise that it's a dumb pipedream I need to let go. Thanks for letting me and possibly an entire site full of procrastinating nerds use you as a guinea pig.
I agree with you about staying wary of the big sites but I would also point out that many if not most of the smaller sites are not to be trusted either. They may be either intentionally giving a 'shocking' score to a game to get attention and the hits they desperately need or they may simply be immature kids who set up their own website without learning the basics of writing a professional review, such as overcoming their own silly biases and judging a game on it's own merits.
That's honestly a higher score than I expected. I'm still expecting some of the lowest scores ever handed out from the major sites.

I haven't played the game so I obviously can't claim for sure that the score is unfair, then again I have no real interest in playing it so you can know I'm not just butthurt about this review slamming a game I like. I have to say this really does seem like a dumb score. From the demo to videos of this game to the other reviews out there, this really does not seem like a 3 out of 10 game.
