Well, they have tried advertisements. They are trying another publicity stunt to attract Japanese consumers.
I think this will be their most successful try at the Japanese crowd, but ultimately will still end in failure for the market.

Uh, Surface sales were bad at first. In order to sell a decent amount of them they are actually selling them at a loss to compete with others. XBox has also not made any money. It's lost Microsoft billions of dollars. Do you think Nokia and Windows phones are doing just fine as well?

This was much of the time because of developer laziness.
Blu-ray reads significantly faster than DVD at a more consistent rate. This is a fact. The only problem is developers are expected to organize data better. Games that took advantage of it had little to no loading screens while 360 still had the loading screens of games on past consoles.
Blu-ray is more than capable of todays games. Every PS3 came with a hard drive. Not every 360 ...
So, you must be the expert, right? Basically inferring that a game like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag is just as easy to run on a PS4 as a X1, when we know that isn't true. The one with stronger performance requires less work for optimization for the hardware and adjusting graphics to suit its performance. Destiny is a great example of this. How is it a form of DRM? It's not mandatory, it's not taking over the main console market. It's a way to play PS on a ton of different devices that can't otherwise run the format or handle emulation.

Blu-ray needed? Not necessarily. But, did some games suffer from no Blu-ray? Oh, yes.
MGS4 didn't even attempt DVD.
GTA4 cut content because not every 360 had a harddrive, Blu-ray could have saved this.
Lost Planet 2 cut content because of 360's DVD size.
Many games had multiple discs on 360. And, some cut content just to save money and fit on one disc.
Same exact end result...
Well, seeing how the dulled the graphics down so lower end phones had a chance at it.. I'm sure that the higher end phones and tablets could handle the regular game fine.
It's not like Bioshock is the new best looking game on iOS or Android. There have been better looking games out on mobile for a few years now that make Bioshock mobile look average, which it is.
I'm sorry to anyone that likes Halo 4's CAMPAIGN.. But, it was a disgrace to the Halo franchise. It had many plot-holes, it Michael Bay'd the giant alien force coincidental appearance right after the last game that ended the story and right where the lead character that couldn't be found somehow was found. Not just the made up shortly after events of the past story junk but the out of no where hundreds of Spartan soldiers that kill the theme that Master Chief is man-kinds last...

I don't know.. But, I am pretty sure that TR and Halo are two entirely different games.
Halo sold more because of higher US console sales. TR and Uncharted are direct competition and Uncharted is clearly above it in quality and popularity.
If big name RPG's such as Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy became XBox exclusives I'm pretty sure SE stock would drop like crazy, MS HQ would get attacked, SE HQ would get attacked, and a mass amount of developers would quit the studios.

He always tries to one up himself and you can tell by the new MGS coming out how far he wanted to push it. But, I wonder if he will even be satisfied with it or try to push another title even further. I really hope he revisits Zone of The Enders. I am sure he has a lot of ideas left out of MGS that can be adapted for ZoE, on top of ideas directly about ZoE itself.
They said it themselves. It is max settings and 1080p/60fps on PS4. There is no spinning or marketing about it.

I love Victorian and Gothic settings.
One thing to note is that the developers said The Order already has an established storyline and 1866 is just part of the story that they have already written. It is open to earlier or later times. I can easily see a setting in the 1920's.
