It's crazy that we have been through this however many times for more than one whole generation and there is still conplimenting of his fake accountability. If this was the first time then maybe we should give a benefit of the doubt. But this many times and we just reward him for "owning" a mistake that so easily should never have happened. A repeat mistake that even happened with Halo Infinite upon reception and still after its release after they constantly advertised how big i...
Didn't they switch from sales to other metrics of success anyways? Now it matters again?
Don't forget, releasing the unfinished bad quality product and then constantly saying that they are "listening" to customers with updates like they're so good for doing so, despite letting them down repeatedly in the first place.
Continuous updates and with content that is genuinely good while not drip feeding and overpromising. Well priced content that feels like an addition rather than cut from the overall package. One thing I find pesky is like OverWatch 2. They release it and suddenly there are tons of exclusive paywalled items while they basically ditched OverWatch 1 for its last year in good cosmetic items. The base game should offer some already awesome things and not feel lacking in comparison. That's just...
@above
Not true at all.
Most AAA games don't even break 100 million in dev costs. The biggest AAA games might reach 150 million. Most AAA games still go closer towards the 80 million numbers.
.. and the major factor is full time employee costs per project. *Certain* games might have like 1,000 devs credited but only a few hundred were employed year round for a couple years. Most were only contracted work for a few weeks time and pr...
Did you read? It says "dominated". That word means something.
That's scary. They tried to say CoD wasn't actually so heavy of a game to lose and that Spny was being childish. Then believe it's such a big deal that they could grace it's presence on other systems and those systems gain no income from it and be happy that it's still on there. Every facet of that kind of deal screams monopoly take over when they strongarm you so hard and make you work for free.
In my opinion. I feel the console side should have been an easy argument. Perhaps once they got to the cloud topic it was pushed more heavily by those that could see that.. since the cloud topic is easier to scare people about
@Army_of_Darkness
They do see what you're talking about. They are intentionally trolling and beating around the bush when a full fledged point and argument is made to show why they are wrong. Look at some of my history where I lay everything out there and premptively argue the go-to counterpoints they rehearse and segues. I don't get a reply because they know it's true. This is why your response here did not get a direct reply to the point you made on size and s...
@KaoticBrock
So, what you're saying is.. that this deal does not actually drive competition because instead of organically forming original IP's and growing a variety of properties the market lacks the way Nintendo and Sony do.. that they buy up a slew of major AAA games and talent that rank number 1 across several genres all in one massive unheard of purchase in this market. Now this even makes it easier on Battlefield to compete because if CoD is not on PlayStatio...
RAD was definitely a missed opportunity. It felt odd they weren't acquired by Sony after all the partnership. The Order seemed just harshly reviewed.
It's such a dangerous way of thinking when people jump on a hate train based on mob mentality.
She did have a clear answer by the way, to those who say she didn't. She said the complaints speak for themselves. Everything has basically already been put out there and instead of looking at the facts and reviewing the real situation, this politician wants to stay glued to the market share argument, which is the only one they have. Sony was voted best console by the cons...
@343 and @wiz
Because everyone's not gonna waste time listing all the franchises that would have for sure come to PlayStation if not for any huge intervention. PlayStation is by far the most profitable platform for any game that releases for console. There is nothing except a typical third party exclusive contract or an entire buyout that would stop them from coming to PlayStation. You have no real argument to speak. It's common sense that without intervention that ...
What Isarai said.
XBox used to be incredible. They had few games, but they were a variety of games that came out the gate as titans. Ever since 2008 when Phil became in charge of European studios and pushed Rare and Lionhead to be Kinect focused, and then 2010 when he became in charge of all game development as Director of Games, everything became Kinect focused and he helped push for that. Everything since then became lacking, losing many features that used to be essential...
I highly doubt that the contract states anything that means publishers could advertise differently. Also, they are not yet the publisher. I doubt Sony would have an openly interpreted contract. It more than likely would be a very simple statement that Sony has exclusive advertisement rights to x IP for x amount of years.
What you actually see in this ad is not the advertisement for Call of Duty being on their platforms exactly, but advertisement for them acquiring Call of ...
Again, didn't reply to me pointing out how you made up misinformation and wanting you to back it up. Even though, again, you ironically talked about growing a spine and facing reality.
Stop being so sensitive. Darxyde didn't insult you or try to make you look bad in any way and you're saying he's crying about something and calling him drunk. Not everyone is a fanboy for the platforms they love and trying to flame or insult other camps. You're not even h...
What does your reply to me have to do with "forcing" Bungie developers to stay with Sony? You stated something specific and I specifically replied to that. So are you going to counter it or just began rambling on other things in your anti-Sony bookmarks because you got caught trying to spread misinformation?
The irony of talking about growing a spine and facing reality when you just avoided the words you just said and started on something else entirely. Chill out...
Jesus..
Offering an extremely good incentive to stay and not jump ship during an acqusition, despite the acqusition not affecting the company's goals, focus, and independence, is forcing? Trolling.
@343
Is it also a lie that FF16 was helped developed by Sony? This partnership ives Sony a few months of exclusivity, but the game itself would have taken that many months or more of development without Sony anyways. The first FF game to have no development troubles in who knows how long. Interesting how people can point out supposed "lies" on one side and not apply the same attention to detail or reading between the lines of another to provide criticism for.
XBox literally almost outperformed PS3. It could have if it kept outputting a variety of genuinely good and interesting games and not rush out rinse and repeat non-passion games after half of the generation. And, to top that off, Phil took over europe studios in 2008 and all studios in 2010 to be Director of Games. It's easy to see how games have gone downhill directly because of him and how sales fell because of that. It isn't and wasn't impossible at all. It's just not possi...
