Well. I know a few people that have gone and gotten high-end rigs with a 970. It's around $800 for the parts. Many of them found that reasonable for maxing out pretty much every game with a good frame rate. Despite the asking price. It is a very reasonable price to performance buy. But, later this year the smaller di is supposed to really boost what otherwise has mostly been refreshes for the past couple years. So, it should definitely get better since hardware is reasonably pulling ahead...
Definitely. Things are cheaper now, yes. But, cheaper to produce as well, obviously. I don't understand how the sensors, screen, and casing of the Oculus are so expensive so I'd love an in depth tear down from someone who does understand how much the parts are.
CES is not e3. It's a technology show.
I want to fight my character in the sequel.
Analog sticks were once a gimmick.
Touch screen on the DS and 3DS.
Guitar controllers.
PS4 controller touch pad, not widely used, but it's non intrusive and is good for what does use it.
VR is not replacing your TV. No one has said this. It is however completely improving your gameplay experience. It makes it 3D and adds head movement. You don't have to necessarily play a game that depends on you moving your head l...
I'm interested. If it's 1080p, fits well, and sounds good then it's just up to if it's affordable. A good built in mic would be noce as well.
@scissor_runner
You don't understand how it works. It is interesting to have your mobile upgraded graphically from a standalone system but that isn't so easily feasible. You want Nintendo to build a system of the same architecture as a 3DS and a Wii U in order to have compatible cloud enhancements? No one is going to buy it. No where in heck would they ever have it run through your computer and likely not even through a local connection of your router. They more than ...
@neoandrew
Look at KillZone 3 on PS3. KillZone 2 already looked fantastic and who would have thought that not only does KillZone 3 look even better.. But, it looks better whilst having 3D capability, and move controller support. Do you remember God of War III having insane anti-aliasing at the time because the developers realized they could apply a trick to do so without hitting performance hardly at all?
Have you seen the PSVR demos? The games that are AAA ...
@neoandrew
What truth? Obviously, a PS4 is not a high end gaming PC. But, the system performs well and Morpheus is stated as incredibly well done. Just because something is technically superior elsewhere doesn't mean it's not done well on said product. Do you never enjoy games? Are you going to hate consoles next generation too when they will be playing current games on PC no problem maxed out or no because there are will be a few PC games that look better completely ...
@Apocalpse Shadow
That's the truth. It's just that it would also be awesome if it did work for PC.
Whether Sony bothers to give PC drivers or not. I absolutely hope the PC community finds a way for this to work with open source VR software already available. It's just a convenience on space, time, and money spent. I will buy Oculus if Morpheus isn't supported. $300 is a great price in my opinion for brand new technology done at what others say...
Exactly. People are making excuses. Just buy a rechargeable battery pack that clips onto your DualShock 4 if you think plugging in a cable is a "hassle". The battery in the controller is 99.9% of the time never going to have a problem. The only problem people pretend to have is plugging in a cord is apparently the end of the world. Justifying a whole console purchase on having to pay for extra battery replacements or to buy the recharge pack for an extra $20 when you can get PS4 con...
Do you know what I do which completely negates your argument for lack of industry standard rechargeable batteries?
I have a PS4 rechargeable battery accessory that clips onto the controller and recharges it without being plugged in. When it's full I take it off. You think Sony doesn't have an option that is the same as replacing your AA's? In fact it's quicker. IF you buy the recharge pack for XBox you're basically lacking the argument anymore.
For sure. I hope they revisit King's Field some day.
Personally, my most wanted game is Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. In my opinion, this was one of the best co-op games back in the day.
I would also like FF XII, Armored Core 2, Soul Calibur 3, Ico(and hopefully bundled with The Last Guardian, possibly with SotC as well), Burnout 3, Katamari, Viewtiful Joe, and Okami. I really hope they eventually can get these games on Vita cross-platform.
The core fans knew of it's shortcomings. Casuals didn't hear and bought it anyway.
See how arguments work?
In reality. Many people casual or "hardcore" left because of the same message. PS4 was a fresh start to many that were aware of XBox giving up last generation and them trying to control them this generation. I know hardcore MS fans that still got a XBox while complaining to me about the same things. They rarely play games anymore and i...
Knuckle banging? What are you talking about? Are you the same person that talks like this and yet talks about this site being biased and taking your bubbles for no reason?
PS has far more games than XBox. What point do you have for posting those two games? Would you be mad if I posted the highest rated games from both consoles and tell you what scored higher? Yes, so sit down and cut out the nonsense.
The DS4 is technically more advanced than any other standa...
@Castillo
MS is an American company but XBox isn't manifactured in America. I look at the companies values. Not their location of origin. Sony values their customers greatly. They understand their customers. You have seen the list of exclusives. You have seen the higher ratings, sales, and money put into new IP's. Sony delivers it on all fronts and rarely misleads as Microsoft did with Kinect, the cloud, and Hololens. Don't be bound by such a thing. MS has screwed...
PSVR makes a huge gameplay feature and intensifies immersion. Cloud technology isn't new and an average game and closed door demos in controlled environments prove nothing. Meanwhile, PSVR has an intense amount of exclusives and great strides to let the public try it out. It's also a huge deal on PC with Oculus, which will also bring PC VR developers to PS and vice versa.
So, MS bought Azure because Sony had substantially more dedicated servers last gen? Is that your logic? Are you sure it's because Sony is worried about gameplay and not a wow factor feature from an average franchise?
Look up Node VR videos on Youtube. Many of them are walking around their room. It looks stupid fun. But, this is what they would like you to have. You don't need to have this set up and not many games will actually be meant for spacial tracking around a room. Primarily it will be for in your seat or if you would like to stand up. The end-game is to have real physical movement and not only head tracking.
