Look guys. Obviously, a cloud, or a server, or host is needed for a multiplayer game. It's always needed. So, when we get crap meant to mislead like this 'not possible without ...". Well, it's true. But, it's misleading. Because, they try to make out Azure as something special. It isn't. Which is why they keep calling it the "cloud" rather than specifically making headlines like "only Azure can do this".
It's not improving c...
@Vasto
Well, if you keep saying that, then you'll be wrong every time.
MS failed to win a single generation, and XBox has declined since 2010. Regardless of Sony, XBox is phasing out, which is why they focus so much on subscription service revenue. The sales are so behind that they stopped reporting the numbers. And, while competitors release numbers sold to the consumer, MS reports numbers at retail which are far higher. Clearly, that isn't enoug...
I've reinstalled W10 several times to fix core issues with .NET, DX, DLL issues, etc. It's still the same as before. Just a new skin, that tries to use a touchscreen designed interface and get rid of better resources like control panel. Oh, and the background data gathering, Cortana trying to be in your face, and random Windows apps you never use randonly suspended in the background under task manager. I will say the start menu is better, aside from being littered with games meant for...
Who said that he was the worst?
He's just cookie cutter. He is average and was put in position because someone had to be. He's not done anything exceptional that wasn't decided by the MS company.
Either way, why do we have a cheering squad for the guy? I see no gaming name other than Kojima that gets so many mentions on here and social media. We still have had a disappointing gen for XBox, with no proof, just recent purchases, to show for.
Have you bothered to think about why it's only first person?
There will be augments to improve cognition.
Third person view already gives the player far greater advantages at seeing around obstacles, which means less risk and less strategy and planning to approach situations.
Cities can be very small in individual areas.
Such as air ducts, alleyways, fenced in areas, public transportation, and consist of many twists and turns. They...
The author isn't out of touch. They just wanted the hits by degrading their credibility
My guess would be turn-based; probably in board game fashion(like FF: Tactics and Fire Emblem). Which could easily work on mobile if they decided to port it, since they have mobile focus atm.
Blizzard should totally announce a Diablo point and click in April for a joke, and then something big.
No. Facts, patterns, statistics, history, and common sense can't be altered by bias, wishful thinking, and agendas. Good one though. Looking forward to the next lack of objective criticism and overlooking of MS's acting issues.
If this wasn't a commonly rehashed "what if" topic then it might've been interesting.
@Old McGroin
"They're obviously working on Diablo 4 as well"
Well, that doesn't excuse bad showmanship and lack of prioritizing core gamers and long term fans looking for proper sequels. We just saw Command and Conquer get roasted over a mobile game not long ago because it's a shell of itself, and they didn't show anything for the audience that made the game successful.
Great! I've been wanting a remake and WC4 for years. I miss the old school RTS games. The simple resource management and base building always drew me in.
SpellForce 3 is pretty good but it has an annoying unit allocation system so you can't just build peons and have dozens of gold miners, and chop down forests swiftly. I don't dislike the system, but I don't get why they didn't implement several modes in skirmish to change the formula. I don't even ...
@sitdown
There is a huge difference in innovating and adopting. There is also a huge difference in making something standard, and being the first to do it.
Online consoles, wireless peripherals, and HDD inclusion were always going to happen. Really? Faceplates are important innovation? Did anyone start doing this? No? Oh. So, why did you list this and Windows software that means nothing to XBox?
DreamCast and the PSX had features like o...
@darthv72
Lets get one thing straight. There is a huge difference in innovating and adopting. There is also a huge difference in making somethimg standard, and being the first to do it.
Online consoles and HDD inclusion were always going to happen. Live isn't the reason for PSN's existence.
DreamCast and the PSX had features like online, HDD, home button, etcetera before other consoles anyways. Nintendo is responsible for adopt...
@AspiringProGenji
Ohh, "we adults" have to follow a fake social norm? You must be so mature. I'm in the Navy and everyone brings out their phone, Switch, and Vita during any down time. This is thinking like the "TV rots your brain" crowd.
Please, stop talking about Microsoft's future. We've had excuse after excuse since 2010 for the console not delivering. Do you want to acknowledge any of their mistakes and the fact that none have been fixed yet? We don't want possibilities to be shoved in our face again and again. We want happenings. They've disappointed, canceled, delayed, mislead, ran in the completely wrong direction more than once, simply done nothing, and have blown smoke especially in their core fans fa...
@No Way
You should understand the context first before replying then.
He stated, "I have no idea if it ever will" after Sony allowed crossplay.
You just said, "if sony had never approved cross play, at the time of his comment".
But, they did approve it, and like I said above. Crossplay isn't difficult to implement. Bethesda clearly just didn't want to go through the trouble of doing it but pawned it ...
I think they said that ES6 is a ways off, and that it's not just because of the games to be released before that, but because they wanted it to have a completely new engine behind it to push what they could do with it. Pretty sure he said something like this in the conference where they showed the reveal trailer.
It really does need to bomb to ensure that we keep our regular Fallout and Elder Scrolls single player games from being ruined. We just want some form of squad based multiplayer.
@Kribwalker
Why are you so desperate to mislead anyone to believe you? Why don't you just find a hint of truth somewhere that you can actually pass on to others?
It doesn't matter what the statement a week later is. The prior words still stand and were spoken. The statement a week later had more time to shift attention elsewhere and not on themselves for not allowing it. We have small indie developers that flipped on multiplatform online like it ...
Because, it was a big deal for a generational leap to finally hit the 1080p standard that was pushed for last gen, and the difference from 900p to 1080p is much more noticeable. It was also launching at the same time period and a higher price point but had worse hardware at twice the size. This, while they were bragging of the cloud improving performance by 4x to make up for it later.
No one argues about what is more relevant. The argument is that people like to collect physical pieces, and that it's an extra burden of wait time to download the entire game when more can be included on the disc.
