Exactly. There are plenty of ways SEGA could have shaken-up the series without taking away how you control the game.
People like andy85 are using the same argument as the people saying HITMAN Absolution was an evolution and a good shake-up of the franchise when it turn out to be the worst thing possible. Thankfully IOI rectified it and went on to produce 3 of the best games out there with the new trilogy. Here's hoping SEGA comes to their senses.

The experience you have playing the game is what counts, not the cinematics, not the lore, not the books in Skyrim, but the gameplay parts. Absolutely. This is not about maturity but about writing and presentation. Yakuza is quite literally a story about the Japanese Mafia and it takes itself EXTREMELY seriously in that aspect. Then it flips it around and goes all silly goose on us. You know actual real life is.
