wow... im actually a bit surprised this looks much better than i thought... i reserved this with very low expectations (and $20 in Bing credit footing half the cost)
@aenea
UWP allows for a game to transitioned from w10 to Xbox with little code change.
Yes there will have to be some code alterations, but nothing massive.
Quantum Break was the test (had bugs)
Forza Light on Windows 10 was the 2nd test (mush better results)
MS is trying to eliminate porting (at least w/ 1st party games) thats UWP was created.
They are trying to removing porting and call...
@Aena
MS has been developing Windows Holographic and UWP just for ha-ha's.
The lil montage at E3-2016 was just for kicks?
MS is smart to just partner with Occulous and HTC. Developing the backbone for the games to transition without much fight to Xbox.
MS is a dominant software company, think about it
@Godmars920
Just about everything we've seen of VR hasnt been a AAA game. They are short mini-game experiences.
U dont think MS has the $$$ to get something up and running. They already have the Windows Holographic Backbone for VR (as well as UWP).
You think they developed this software just for the heck of it.
It wouldnt take much work for MS to get Gears Horde mode VR, Forza VR modes, possibly Sea of Thieves VR mode.
...
@amiga-man i dont want to give up my 4K tv for some (currenty niche) VR mini game.
@Morganfell...
Are u serious?
Call of Duty definitely got its name and fame from Xbox...
And it is about profit. Ut will ALWAYS be about $$$...
If Rise of Tomb Raider made the sales they wanted to make or not on Xbox, Im sure they are more than happy with the paycheck MS wrote
@FoxTrot....
Not entirely...
Part of it is, MS dumped us to focus on their internal stuff and now Sony we have managed to sucker Sony (like we did MS) for a partnership
Trust me.. If MS were still partnering with them, Activision would still be happy.
Microsoft over pays for everything.
@Rudero I see it the difference with my own two eyes. And they work pretty well..
There is a difference between the upscaler on the One S vs the tv scaler.
You dont want there to be one for whatever reason, but it's evident.
The One S latency isnt as concerning as u think either.
Not sure of ur hatred of towards Xbox.
But the One S is a winner
just to let you know...not all up-scalers are created equal.. Just like all TV are NOT created equal.
the scaler in my One S, blows away the decent scaler on my Sammy 4K TV
Wrong man...
The 4K scaler on the One S blows away the scaler in my very nice Sammy 4K tv.
NBA2K17 run native 1080p/60fps on both the PS4 and One(S)
If the One version is getting HDR support, it will be the better version despite being on the weaker console.
wrong...
sony eventually gets ALL content once exclusive timed deal is up...
like rise of tomb raider... sony gets all content plus some..
theres still some content from destiny that wont come to xbox once exclusive deal is up...
they could always do an Elite DS controller and sell it separately...
butchertroll...
I dumped the PS4, in waits of Neo...
And considering how expensive these toys are, they are very much babied...
your right about that...
The PS4 fan gotten considerably louder as time progresses...
if and this is a BIG IF....if Scorpio is using AMD new Zen Chipset, and Neo sticks with the current Jaguar offering 1.8 Tflops difference will feel like a 2.8-3.8 TFLOP difference. Which is HUGE.
Especially for games that are CPU bound...
sammarshall102 just might be correct in his/her statment...
as long as the fan(s) are powerful (yet quiet) and plenty of ventilation... that's all that will matter at the end of the day.
@spoilerjerk... WHAT????
This makes no sense at all.
MS has basically put down the gauntlet.
MS is doing what they should have done years ago, SPEND MONEY...
They have NO comp in this department...
Sony is doing a PS Slim, PSVR, Neo... And your talking PS5...
Read your words back to yourself and tell us where this makes sense
Sony is doing a pretty good job of recovering from financial disaster...
And what you just said, would tank them again...
this would mean that Sony would of had to backtrack on any chipset agreement that they may of had with AMD. Somebody would have to eat the cost of all these chips being mass produced...
Adding something is one thing, but changing up a part completely is another.
Neo is rumored to be using Jaguar still, where Scorpio is rumored to be using AMD's next gen chip set.
Every time I get to about $20 i cash in...
