modern technology will allow the base model PS4 and Neo to co-exist.
That's why dynamic scaling and dynamic resolution exist.
not every person who has a gaming pc, has the same Rig setup.
if i'm playing a game [on base model PS4] that have dynamic features to them, I may get 900/1080 and 30 (with a few frame drops when things get crazy)... On Neo same game full 1080/60 [no frame drops] and possibly a 4k native [or up rez] fo...
@badz...
Phil is slightly shocked.. he didnt even expect a million sales within 1st year...
and he basically saying thank u as well...
it wasnt to gloat.. not this time at least
good job Sony...
on a road to financial recovery
DrakeFan1...these comments arent coming from Microsoft
@Hercules...
MS has fallen victim to the fanboy wars (or shall I say Phil Spencer has)
Look what he's done while 2yrs on the job.
1.) Has purchased a quite a few new IP (rather they are made by 3rd party studios as well, MS keeping IP's now)
2.) Trying to put the "Xbox lacks power" argument to bed, by announcing Scorpio 18months early (which I wouldnt have done. showed hand too soon)
Microsoft will either take Gears or Halo (Forza) and go with native 4K over 1080/60/Ultra
MS will use 1st party games for 4K, and let 3rd party devs fiddle with other settings...
Phil Spencer really want this "We have the powwer now" moment
i got a 4K tv... but now i want one with HDR...
maybe the yr after scorpio launches ill go for it
@TFJWM

there ya go
wait... so now it's a buzzword... LOL...
wasnt a buzzword 3yrs ago... it was a bragging point.
now everyone want to play dumb... smh
@UltimateMaster...
Microsoft (or shall i say Phil Spencer) no longer cares about selling you the razor blade(s)... He care more about selling you the razors..
And the second part of ur rant is completely false fear.. Phil been cleared up any concerns, about the store and all..
Im in the preview program for Xbox... And let's just say, it's a good thing that this is still in preview.
It's very broken... It feels like you are fighting against the controls just navigating the store.
It feels like the Xbox is waiting for touch (tablet), mouse click, and controller input all at the same time...
I believe the Anniversary Update will go live sometime in mid-July or later, lets' just hope the update for Xbox is ...
I love when people retort with "PC"
My brother and most of my friends arent going to buy a gaming PC (nor would i take the time to build that many for my family and friends)...
They are more intrigued with seeing PC quality graphics (and perhaps gameplay) on a console.
If said console stays below $600 ... Most of my family and friends say they will pack up their Xbox Ones and upgrade. GameStop and Best Buy always does deals. ...
@uth11 thats on Nintendo...
Phil Spencer made it very clear that Scorpio is part of this generation of hardware
@dirkdady because R&D Budget $$$ grows on trees...
Sony is on an amazing road to financial recovery, they do NOT want to get into a spending war with a company that can buy them out with the change under the couch cushions...
PS4.. Making money
PSVR .. have yet to hit the market...
PS-Neo has yet to hit the market...
Let's see how the market receives Neo and PSVR before jumping to PS5...
T...
Nobody noticed that these are smaller Indie Studios...
I didn't see them mention. EA, Rockstar, Activision/Blizzard; Ubisoft, etc...
And you also notice that some of the Indies arent even worried about it...
It seems to be the very very smal dev teams are a most concerned
@FreeSpeech i stand corrected...
abysmal sales dont get you a bigger budget to build a Xbox Slim and Scorpio ...
think about it.. really... think about it...
I believe newer 4K tv's 2015 models & newer are the only ones that do HDR
I could be dead wrong though...
sony has no risk right now.
they announced it exist, and thats about it.
rumor says it can release as soon as 4-6months from now. but sony neither confirmed nor denied this.
nobody knows the true specs of neo either.
i can be weaker, equal, or stronger, than whatever nintendo or microsoft puts out. all while still being able to play current games
there's really isnt any risk involved at the moment.
