It doesn't really matter what platform anymore if it's not in the arcade
I grew up on SF2/CE, Alpha/Zero 1,2,3 then Street Fighter 3. Arcade first - not online with ping with mummy watching . Back then it was about beating someone in a tournament with a stick and six buttons. You can smell the competition loose composure. I'm not the best, but I'm in the top 1‰.
I don't play at that level anymore. I grew out of it.
But I can tell ...
Are you living in the dark ages? Who uses a KB/M on PC to play a fighter?
"Know thy enemy" mate - sounds like you might be the one getting your ass handed to you
I'd like to see a GTA in Australia. There's alot of opportunity for humour.
Or a back to future 80s retro kind of future. Or another Vice city.
I'd still buy Vive. It's still the better tech. Although $400 is a very attractive price.
Lol.. diggin deep much? Let's list every game even if it's half a$$ or not released until 2017. tsk
How can it have enough power if they have to sacrifice 60fps and keep it at 30?
What? RE5 was only out last gen and you're already clamouring for a remaster. What's wrong with you people?
I'm mostly a PC guy but I'd agree. X1 is making money, it's just being outsold by the PS4. It is what it is. Play wherever your friends are and where the games are at for you, or whatever your budget can afford.
Yeah thats a big part of the problem for me. I'd like to walk around but I live in Japan at the moment (nuff said) so space is at a premium. But if the majority of games can be played sitting down the Rift might still suit my needs.
Let us know how it is when you get it. I often appreciate your unbias-ness so it will be a nice gauge for me.
Waiting for some more reviews on Vive vs Rift. I'm leaning towards Rift because it seems like a more seated experience. Otherwise I'll have a real bad time with the amount of Lego my son leaves on the floor if I need to walk around. It seems so far the Vive has the better and more immerersive display which I want though.
I'd rather own the games and hardware. Streaming a game is half ass experience no matter how good the game is. Latency is still the problem even with a Giga connection. Until that's under 5 ms which can't be done for the foreseeable future I don't see a way out of a second fiddle gaming experience.
Besides that, I can also live without steaming to my cell phone. That's not how I wanna experience a game either.
I hate any kind of game streaming. Latency is still too high. Even at a respectable 30ms. Not good enough. Just give us good hardware Nvidia.
I noticed you edited your post to say it needs Thunderbolt 3 after the fact I told you.. Then gave me a cute response.
Lol.. Mature.
It would need a new motherboard. You can't modify the existing one unless it's a totally new model/design from inception .
Plus there's also Thunderbolt licencing to contend with. USB 3.1 doesn't have anywhere near the bandwidth needed for a GPU.
So it's possible, but not for exi...
Fair point. I totally get your concern.
I see this more as a case of semantics. What if it were simply a PS5? Then it would be a short console life with the newer console being backwards compatible.
Either way, it's a similar result.
We were made aware this would likely be a shorter cycle this gen as the consoles weren't over-engineered like the previous gen. They are not equipped to handle a 7 year lifespan.
Hell yes. Silly question.
Solid argument? Care to share why?
I'd much rather play on PC due to my rig due to it being able to pull of better visuals and frame rates.
Impossible on its current design. Xconnect needs a high speed interconnect. It is currently using Thunderbolt 3.
You can still play your games at 30fps as intended. Let people who want 60fps have at it. What's the problem with that?
Every man and his dog has 970 level performance now. VR is still ok for AMD users with similar power.
Don't kid yourself. Most actual gaming machines are more than capable.
