I don't think anyone expects better performance from these 3rd party games (not referring to you WWE2k18), but Switch owners shouldn't get the shaft on other features.
I don't think it's excusable to ignore that this game released months later, without the dlc, and at a full price. I have the same issue with timed exclusives on PS, XB, or PC doing the same thing.
Add in the performance hit, and I don't think praise should be thrown at ...
Better question: Who holds a controller like that?
But is this situation what we should encourage? Games releasing later, with lower performance, no extra content, and a full price tag?
If it released same day at the same price, I'd say, OK. If it comes later, at a reduced price or with extra content, I would say OK. But to me, this is sort of taking advantage of the Switch only players, while not enticing multiplatform owners to buy it on Switch.
Granted, that is well beyond the click bait in this a...
I'm about 80% in agreement with you, and the author does come across as a bit salty, but there's some fair points made here.
I want every game on the Switch because of portability. It is fantastic, but the limitations are there. Personally, I would be more excited if 3rd party focused on porting last-gen stuff. For example, Fallout 3 & New Vegas would be great on Switch.
I do agree with the author on some issues, though. Portability does not ...
Except all of those Switch articles they also post.
Not much salt is needed on this one. FH3 is already considered by many to be the best Forza. FH4 looks even better. Where's the controversy here?
ESO? Isn't that the online only spinoff to a long running SP-Only RPG series that recently hit 10 million players?
I did. Been waiting for years.
Oh FFS, nobody will riot. I've waited years for a MP Fallout.
Unplug your mic and pretend you're still blissfully alone if you want to play. Or play one of the thousands of other SP games on the market.
I suspect that new Halo engine is going to scale a lot.
Apparently it's you who doesn't know what they're talking about. Japanese GTA, huh?
Literally all of your examples were because of Peter Moore, not Mattrick. At least use Google if you're planning to continue your revisionist history.
Mattrick almost ruined the brand beyond repair.
Holy-tinfoil-hell, that was impressive.
Cross game chat was one of the best features from last gen. Not all of us game in hyperbaric chambers.
I guess you're right, though. If you're not interested in online gaming, then cross game chat and cross play are quite similar. For example, why should anyone care about your opinions on either online feature if you're not even using them?
I really like the idea of going after the creative talent above all else. Money can't buy some things, and I hope they continue to build with studios like UL.
And even though UL may not be getting the attention of some of the other acquired studios, it is the one I am most excited about. Give me a AAA zombie sim where I can embrace my inner Negan and have a full Saviors' server.
Compulsion made a multiplat, Ninja Theory made a multiplat, and the Initiative is brand new. How you came to 4/5 is beyond me.
Prior to their acquisition, Naughty Dog was only making PS1 games. IMO, that one studio acquisition changed a lot of things.
Yookah-Laylee was a disappointment to me. Maybe if they had more resources it would have come out better. The most nostalgic part of the game was the camera, and that's not a good thing. It was a short but decent platformer. "Amazing" is a big stretch, though.
Not disagreeing that Rare is probably incapable of delivering a good Banjo game. I just don't think Playtonic has what it takes, either.
You know someone is going to hit you with the Justin Bieber analogy, right?
They just came out and said Horizon 3 hit 9 million "players." I know those kind of stats trigger some people, but even the (only since 2013) accurate VGChartz has FH3 ahead of GTS.
But I personally don't believe COD is the "king" of video games, so I disagree that sales are the right metric.
Forza passed GT years ago as the "king.&q...
I think you're referencing the website. If they removed it before it was sold, it will be harder to bring the suit. Probably won't stop someone from trying though.
It wasnt a commercial, but yeah, that would be crazy...

Oh, please. They literally just recently blurred out a competitor's controller from a video of a game that they bought the marketing rights to. The insecurity is still alive and well despite being the clear market leader.

Doesn't sound like they changed their entire vision.
They were a small team that received a lot of feedback (positive and negative). That feedback and early access allowed them to grow in size and build even more story components then they had planned when they were small. Sounds like they've made thoughtful changes to the survival aspects while keeping its narrative significance, too.
Overall, this is sounding like an example of Early Access don...
