Except they do...
If only there is some magical device they could use as an example....
Let me turn on my PC and see if I can find such a phenomenal machine.
Like many things in life, there is always the risk of abusing a good thing.
For every Crash Trilogy, there are quick cash ins like DMC collection, or "remakes" like EAs blasphemous Dungeon Keeper mobile BS.
Praise what they get right (BC), and criticize what they get wrong (investment in new). You can seperate the two. Give it a try!
So to sum things up: You have no interest in playing BC games. No interest in Xbox, period.
Yet you commented on an article about both. Interesting use of your free time...
I am surprised that they've stayed committed to BC as much as they have. I truly hope they stay on the path of "no new generations," and these libraries carry over for years to come.
I actually am excited for Amazon's game development. I'm surprised you would be though. Everything will be built on GaaS principles and will utilize AWS to immediately fully leverage their Twitch investment. Will that come on a dedicated, Amazon-made piece of hardware? God I hope not. But we know that their first two projects are LoL and Overwatch clones. My guess is PC releases. Not exactly ready to fill in for any of the big three.
Samsung is even more in that are...
Supposedly it has a larger range than the tethering in Far Cry 5. It didn't seem to be a strike against FC5, though.
Give us what we want? Like streaming services and mobile titles? I get you're against MS, but don't wish that garbage on the rest of us.
You think Amazon and Samsung will develop a set top box and invest in developing AAA franchises? First, it will take years to reach that point when they're starting from zero. Second, why in the world would they not just leverage their strengths to get into the "console market." In other words, streaming and mobile-es...
This is a good write up by Jez Corden. Hopefully the reorganization and the investments do bring good results.
None of us like to wait, and MS has been shown an abundance of patience from its fanbase, but he's right, they need to start that serious investment or they risk losing more than this generation. And as corporate and rigid as MS is, we will not be happy if Amazon or Samsung suddenly step in. If you think traditional console gaming is threatened by Xbox, you ai...
Sounds like the problems everyone kept telling me were in the original. And co op sounds a lot like the co op in a couple of the top selling games of 2018. Hmmm...
I'm excited to dig into more of this franchise. Its going to be rough around the edges, but the gameplay made the last one worth my time. $30 might be too high, but we'll have to wait and see.
For someone not interested in Xbox games, you seem to have INFECTED a lot of Xbox threads l...
No, this is about reminding everyone why Battlefront used to be great. 4k, 2k, potato, it doesn't matter. This should be praised regardless.
Now carry on with that console war of yours, brave keyboard shill.
This part made me laugh: "Big publishers get nervous when they can’t say, ‘Oh, it’s like PUBG, only it’s got dragons."
I like these guys. Hopefully they continue to succeed doing what they want to do.
@rain
Selective memory. Mattrick gets handed the keys after Moore righted that ship. Xbox was in the black, had market share, and had Ballmer's checkbook.
In a few short years, he pissed it all away. Don was a leader alright, just a pretty terrible one.
It didn't take him years because he took over when things were going good. He coasted to the end of the 360 gen with COD marketing and Just Dance games. Then when it came time to...
@Rain
It has taken - and will continue to take - years to correct the Mattrick effect on the brand.
After Mattrick was awarded one of the "Smartest Men in Tech" and other misplaced accolades for his not-so-visionary brilliance, he undid everything Peter Moore and others built in short time.
The shift to Kinect and TV, TV, TV, were under his direction. Let's give credit where it's due. He made MS money, but at what cost...
That's what I remember. To be honest, they probably should have sold it considering all of the financial problems they've had. The IP is most valuable to MS compared to any other buyer, so unless Crytek invests in a sequel and starts building a larger fanbase, I'm afraid it will just rot. I respect wanting to keep your IP, but I fear Crytek might not be around too much in the future.
Shame. I'd like to see a Ryse Son of Britain or something like that base...
All he said is that IF TRUE, it would be exciting.
Then names some games he'd like to see.
Isn't that the message we should be sending to these companies? Let them know what we want? Nothing in your silly analogy even makes sense in the context of what he said.
He's right. You guys are working overtime lately.
Don't mind at all.
Guess my biggest point is that the first article was as thoughtful and creative as our good friends at gamingbolt spew out. That's why it's not worth any rebuttal in the first place.
Yep, and this is one of those pieces we should call BS on. How is this relevant to arguing the merits of exclusive games:
"There are no Xbox exclusives that would make people buy the system." Or how about "I mean, look at Sunset Overdrive, Insomniac Games did a fantastic job and that game would’ve sold well on the PlayStation market but Microsoft has it." That last one seems to argue against exclusivity actually....
That's just...
@biggerboss
I like new and old games. When it comes to old, MS is doing a pretty good job. When it comes to new, not so much from their first party. There's tons of articles about the latter, but this isn't one. Critcism is good on that front, but can we not talk about the good stuff too?
@Sinister
Yeah...commenting and trolling are different things.
@painted
WTF?
