"There's no bitterness at all."
Well, Maury, your second rage rant says that was a lie.
"I'm playing the most successful console this generation, the highest rated games, the most exclusives and vr that is crazy immersive."
Hey cool! I'm playing on PS4, too! I thought it would be difficult to join the team, but the guy at the store just took my money and gave me the box. It was crazy! Same thing happened ...
As the article points out, they figured out all of those "legal logistics (?)" years ago with PC. Strange they can't figure it out now. I'm sure they could ask Nintendo for some notes if it's that tough.
We can ask Epic, Bethesda, Psyonix, or Nintendo about it if you are curious about requirements.
As much as some try to make this an MS vs. Sony thing, it's not. Ironically, it didn't hit a higher level of attention until Nintendo was involved.
But don't let facts get in the way of your pity party.
It is a shame, but I think the biggest complaints were about the lack of 1st party support. Hardware, services, and features weren't hated on, really.
Sounds a lot like Xb1, actually.
I can hear you rage typing from here...
People aren't ignoring all of these other issues just because there is a bit of negative press being slung Sony's way. Calm down and go read the thousands of other articles if you don't want to discuss it.
Why does it always come back to "either company?" Despite the best efforts to make it a MS vs. Sony thing, we are again looking at a 3rd party pub wanting this feature to be allowed. Just to be allowed.
Nintendo, a company that goes out of its way to pull Let's Plays and ROM sites for "business reasons," can somehow come to terms with these complicated business intricacies.
The weird thing is, if Phil Spencer so much as farts sidew...
Ironically, I'm holding out on Fire Pro in hopes of a Switch port.
"The technology is there. It's 2018. Servers should be unified on these games. Politics aside."
Fully agree. Why people continue to argue against this is beyond me. We understand that some of these multi billion dollar corporations have "business reasons" for continuing to hold these features back, but why do so called consumers feel the need to be their PR mouthpiece and defend them?
Probably, although I'm not sure there is a clear definition of "new," but I know I've bought and sold sealed items labeled as new on Amazon.
Hell, if Gamestop can sell opened, unsealed games with price tags glued to the game case as "new," then we should be fine to do the same with actual new games.
I'm not sure who "we" are, but I know that I talk about it like Sony should change because it's better for me, a consumer, if they did. I'm personally not indifferent myself. I see most are indifferent, though, and that's cool.
Not sure about you and some others, though. I don't think your comments are a sign of indifference. It's a sign of something else...and advocating AGAINST something that is inconsequential at worst is not something ...
Yep, PS4 is doing great, and it already offers Crossplay with PC. Those are two additional reasons why the "business interests" excuse is just as weak as the other excuses.
It is what it is. It is an inevitability imo, and will be common in the future. The walled gardens are slowly opening up, which, as a consumer, I'm happy about.
Maybe it is a great conspiracy like you claim. That sounds dumb to me, but to each their own. It's cool th...
Most people are indifferent, which is what makes the idea that there is some big financial reason to block it so laughable.
Talks will fire up again when the next big title to use it hits. The biggest shift we saw came when Nintendo got involved. I think that grabbed attention because a lot of Switch owners also have PS4s, and locking out those Fortnite accounts was a bad move.
Outside of the small pockets of defend-at-all-costs Fandom, the consensus is s...
All of the praise this game has received has been for its narrative, writing, and characters. Criticisms have focused on the rest of the package. Those positives are the things MS lacks imo.
Keep these guys on board for story and creative directors, and bring in other talent experienced in level design and game direction.
Maybe it is a trick, or maybe it is vultures being vultures.
Even if the damages were minuscule, the firm could be designed to feed itself on the fee shifting nature of the claims. Meaning, because these types of claims can result in an award of attorney fees and costs, some practices take on low damages cases, bill the hell out of the file, and get paid from the losing side on an insignificant claim of actual damages.
I don't know if that is what is ...
Why not just Google the names if you don't know who they are?
They've gotten some experienced recruiters attracting great talent. Cantamessa is the one that has me most interested.
The streaming vs. cable analogy doesn't make sense in this context, though. Netflix being a threat to theaters and retail DVD sales is more accurate. Cable is actually an ironic refrence.
If you're looking at the TV and movie space, the "concerns" we hear about Netflix are a complete rehash of the complaints we heard about cable decades ago.
Most of the concerns listed in the article already exist in the present gaming environment. As fa...
The biggest complaints come from 1) they previously announced that it wouldn't have MTs but are walking back on that now, which is never a good look, and 2) the payouts and grind should have been adjusted if MTs were going to be added.
It all sounds quite similar to laws in the States. Look up "constructive dismissal" or "constructive termination" and see how it is treated by your State's courts as it relates to unemployment benefits.
I remember when games were criticized for NOT having MP.
But since the early days for me, playing COOP or competitively with Player 2 has been a staple of gaming. Narrative driven, deep SP experiences were the exception to the norm.
Teens today grew up with PS2 onward, though, so I understand their views are different.
@Old prodigy
You're so right. I guess an article concerning Sony's historical implementation of CP HAS to have a complete rundown of all of all of the positives about the system, too? Because that is relevant and not a triggered rage response at all.
The slightest negativity triggered a full defense mode meltdown.
Example: If in response to someone pointing out that Sony helped pioneer CP, you find yourself crying about sales n...
