In Europe the EU have to approve the game, which takes time. There is no point having the entire world wait until it's approved so they release it in areas where they are approved first. Also different countries get different versions of the game, in europe dead rising is uncensored and therefore that version took sometime to make and then it had to goto EU to get approved.

Well isn't that why sony is including Blu-ray, so that they can have most if not all of the royalties. Sony is a greedy company, they have intervend in numerous formats to make a quick buck like Beta-max and they almost created a format war with DVD and then sony decided to back down. Well the reason sony is absorbing the cost of Blu-ray was 1)The PS3 is already expensive imagine if it was $100 more that it is now 2) If Blu-ray becomes standard then sony will make huge profits from licensing. As for Microsoft, they don't gain much from adding HD-DVD or Blu-ray, so most likely the drive is sold at cost price or maybe a slight loss.

How cool would it be if Sony licence the xbox 360 OS from microsoft. This way xbox 360 games will be playable on the ps3 and developers only have to code for 1 system. Since sony is actually a hardware company they can get the profits from the hardware sales and microsoft would get profits from licencing.
And sony wouldn't have to court developers since that would be microsofts job. And lets not forger sony would be then be able to play franchises like Gears Of War, Forza, Halo, PGR...

Dev kits are different than test kits. Test kits are the actual consumer game consoles. There is no use trying to test a game on a dev kit since the consumer will have a retail kit. So developers need the test kit to see if the game will run fine since dev kits and test kits have different specs.
Vista delay is due to the EU wanting to fully certify it before it gets released there. The rest of the world is good for release. The Europians can pretty much blame the EU for delays, except the ps3 since it's just due to sony not making enough consoles.
In the first part Phil Harrision is saying that sony invented the third dimention (3D) and that nintendo copied them LOK, honestly phil your becoming as crazy as Kaiz. And why is it that Poor Ken has to reveil all the bad news.
I think the soccer deal microsoft did in Europe pretty much did it for sony. They can't launch in Europe with no soccer games for the next 1 year.
So basically 1/4 of intial shipments and totally screwing over Europe, and also making fun of microsoft for shortages at launch. Basically microsoft launched with 4 times the amount as sony. So the phrase bill said was true, sony's launch will walk into Halo 3 if halo 3 does launch in spring 2007.
So on E3 2005 when sony said spring 2006, they really meant spring 2007. Thats a long time. I have to give Kudos to microsoft, they managed to pull off a worldwide launch sure they had shortages but each continent was treated fairly and got there shipments. Instead of some parts of the world waiting half a year while others are enjoying their system.
I totally see how this relates to Forza 2 being delayed. Oh and Splinter Cell only got delayed by a few weeks and the xbox 360 gets the game 1 week before the ps2,xbox and pc versions. It's one thing when software gets delayed, it's another for hardware delays and software cancelations.
Also Armored Core was rumored to have signed an exclusive deal with sony. It wasn't canceled for anyother reason than sony paying the developer to keep it exclusive. It wasn't like Raw vs. Smackdow...
The screenshots for PGR3 before release didn't look too good. But somehow a few months when the game came to retail it looked amazing, seeing the game in motion with all the effects makes a huge difference. The forza 2 screens look way better than the PGR3 screens so this game should truimp PGR3 in visuals by a huge factor.
It truely is a great game. Atleast play it at a friends house if you don't have a xbox 360. The story is more together that the GTA series. Like in San Andreas you get random calls from people that want a fovour or your leaders just give you orders to do. In Saints Row you feel like your actually doing something and helping your gang out.

Well Microsoft and Sony build true next gen machines that are complex to build. The wii is pretty easy to build.
