Hey, cant you say the samething about UMD sales, we got a UMD player with every psp (tens of millions) but I dont see UMDs selling well. Want to know why, it's quite logical. Why would anyone buy a movie that would only play in the ps3, same for the UMD. You can argue that a standalone player is available, but thats $1000 which is more than out of the way for the average consumer. As you see sony is putting blu-ray players into the hands of people that mostly don't care for high definition me...
Resident evil and Grand Turimo are not that big considering that you missed Mario. Anyways,im sure it's another title that ea will try to milk.
Same with Dead Rising eh. Sure the games support all the resolutions but the lower res TVs look horrible. I have an HDTV so no problem here, Dead rising looks beautiful but devs need to think about standard tvs aswell.
I can imagine Kaiz opening TGS with Ridge Racer for the PS3. And possibly announcing it as a launch title.
Sony's problem is that they are trying to get existing technology to work with their product since they spent too much money on the cell and blu-ray. They could have done what microsoft did with wireless and make a new protocol for the controllers, headsets, etc. We'll see how this plays out near launch. I'm pretty sure sony will have some kind of a work around.
I thought the samething but I didn't mention it because sony fans would try to defend it by saying it's a typo. We'll just have to wait and see.
Then I guess you shouldn't drive a ferrari enzo. Once you get over the cool factor of a stick shift, the paddles are the way to go.
I was expecting $200 price tag. $250 will pretty much make it compete with the xbox 360 core. Come this christmas who knows what deals microsoft will cook up for the core bundle. If I was a casual gamer I personally get the xbox 360 core simply because it would have the better games imo compared to Nintendos Mario and Zelda line-ups.
There both the same system powerwise but one is a little harder to get the power. The games would look pretty much identical.
This gen it's all about the exclusive games, if you want RPGs like Final Fantasy then go with PS3, if you want shooting games like Halo 3/GOW and sports games go with the xbox 360.
If your not a serious gamer and don't have a care for big budget games then go with the wii.
Where does it say 3.2ghz for the cell, can't find it.
IBM spent millions on the cell, obciously they have to put it in something to make the money back.
Online is huge, if you have ever played an xbox 360 game you will know. Once single player is done, there is nothing else to do with the game unless it has online. If Halo 2 didn't have online, it wouldn't be as popular.
Doesn't $250 sound like a lot of money for a console that's essentially a repackaged gamecube with motion controllers. Nintendo said it themselves that they took the GC GPU and CPU and made it more effiecent. The xbox 360 core is only $50 more than the wii and this gap might even shorten come wii launch.
I might consider it, sony is good at hardware but they lack in software. The PSP looks beautiful but it lacks major fun factors, I know because I own one. I use it mostly now for playing video and then it's still a pain because they have to be in.mp4 format and they stupied namings system. I honestly can't wait for the microsoft one, if they make it accept atleast WMV and Mpeg, maybe some internal storage and I might just get it.
Remember there is always the premium edition if you don't want HD-DVD movies.
So basically there will be a xbox 360 that will be the same price as the premium ps3 and maybe an even bigger harddrive bigger than 60Gb and price that at the same as the ps3 premium and I might consider switching my xbox 360 premium for this new model.
Obviously the games will still be on DVD, but I would rather have a streaming world than one that has to be install on the console, due to the 12x DVD streaming quickly. I also read that the system would be black. If Microsoft pulls...
So Xfire, is that what the final product is also called.
I wouldn't be surprised if 499 999 ps3 are up on E-bay the day of launch. Well your wondering about the 1, well that was given to Gametime as a token of his patience and sticking behind sony.
Come on Banjo Kazooe, did they do conkers aswell?
Your telling me universal is not big. They are one of the biggest movie producing companies in the world. Movies like Fast and the Furious, Lord of the Rings, King Kong, Miami Vice and many more. 7/8 is pretty big for sony but they are missing a huge chunk still and the ones that are exclusive to sony are the ones owned by sony. The other such as Warner Bros and Paramount are neutral and release titles on both formats.
