Since when is pokemon a casual title? It's pretty much as hardcore as monster hunter. It's as hardcore as you want it to be. Pokemon is more hardcore than call of duty because it's infinitely more complex.
@baka PS1 had a good start but it also had about a year without too much. It seems like more because it had a head start and it took a while to catch on. Additionally, by the time n64 hit it had finally gotten it's games. I agree with saturn, it's launch lineup was pretty good. just it petered out very quick.
Yeah I feel like the reason they get this much hype is simply to pad the day 1 sales, I haven't seen a console with a good first year since SNES. Quite literally every console from the 32/64bit gen on has had terrible launch years. It's gonna be interesting as this sets in for those who buy the xbox one and ps4. That's also disregarding the dangers of getting a system in it's first year as far as hardware failures.
look for the lighting effects from the lightning and the draw distance out to sea. PS3 gets blurry at some point. Wii U looks crisp.
Excellent starting point, from there move to LTTP, then tackle windwaker and skyward sword. Twilight princess would be next and you've hit all the major canon titles.
From there the other games are optional fun sidequests with an big reccomend on the original if you wanna go full retro, Links awakening if you want a really great side story, and go for Minish cap if you want an incredible portable title, possibly better than LTTP. You could play Majora's mask but that...
WTF does that gif prove? We've had fabric effects since assassins creed 1 came out. Meanwhile pikmen 3 has something metro doesn't have. a full color palette that is pleasing to the eye.
Pretty sure it would be easy to show a video more impressive than that for pikmen 3.
I mean that's a nice gif but do you have any videos with someone having this much fun with Metro: Last light?
Okay, hope you also won't be getting the xbox one or ps4 because those will have even less games. While wii U will have watchdogs, COD:ghosts, and AC4 along with pikmen, wonderful 101, Mario game, windwaker HD, the definitive version of deus ex: human revolution.
I'd say now that the price dropped and the first game wave has begun. Now's the time to buy a wii U. If you're smart you'll wait on ps4 & xbox1 until either a price drop or they get more than ...
Sonic is officially dead. when even an nintendo sega collaboration can't rejuvenate the series... it's time to put her down.
Wonderful 101, bayonetta 2, pushmo, luigi's mansion, oodles of jrpgs, fire emblem, kid icarus:uprising. They have plenty of new franchises but they are too busy dropping massive improvements to existing franchises. You're just pissed because they don't all revolve around games wanting to be movies. We got COD, watchdogs, and assassins creed if you don't like colorful fun and challenging games that are universally beloved by not just the angsty 16 year old boy demo.
8! 8! why not 8 on 3ds? I'd preorder that a year ahead of time.
I could forsee wii U still holding the lead in total next gen consoles sold for a while potentially well past the holiday season. Being the winner of the christmas sales however, I don't forsee. Only convievable way is if somehow the sales between xbone and ps4 is very divided and nintendo does a smidge better with a mario game to prop it up.
However i'm unsure it could keep the total market systems number all through the system cycle. My guess is wii u will be number...
Seeing as this guy judged an 40 hour game by the first 7 hours (and probably never understood all the nuance in the motion controls.) . I don't think he's exactly someone who is in frame of mind to judge the franchise. Zelda isn't overrated. Zelda is simply Iconic and well managed. I'll happily admit phantom hourglass and spirit tracks were only okay but something should be pointed out. It's still not a bad game. The story was good just the flow was hampered by returni...
Yeah, this study doesn't make sense I barely understand what the hell they are gauging. Here's the reason why nintendo's got a gap.
" If not for Nintendo’s wider distribution network, console heritage, and first party titles it would start to find itself in closer competition with many of the new market entrants."
Seriously... what? Those sound like good things.
Oh yeah, nintendo is doing terrible...

Sales don't matter though
It is something for the people considering buying Xbox one and PS4 on day 1. It's going to be a bit until those systems catch up and they will be at the highest price point of those system's lifecycle. You could get a wii U and have lots to play and wait for drops in price on those systems and a more robust catalog to justify the purchase.
Nope. Means the wii U will be pure labor of love like n64. Wii U could be looked back to as some one of the greatest systems for nintendo. Because they're making games just because they wanna. Wii gave em' the money pad to just focus on kicking butt. Not becoming number 1.
Gameboy + pokemon as earliest gaming memory... roughly born in 1994. He's probably about 20 and hasn't quite figured himself out yet. My theory stands.
Also that comment perfectly illustrates the mindset too. note: "I grew older" then lists off violent movieesque games that are M rated. I should write a paper on this.
"Phenomena of adolescents gravitating to M rated games explained"
I've found most people who have "outgrown" nintendo games are typically between 11 and 19. This is not outgrowing nintendo. It's a feeling of inadequacy with your own maturity. At that age range you wanna do anything to make you seem more adult. this means no longer playing games for the fun of it.
It means, "My games can't be colorful, they must include guns and they must include over the top gore. Because that's what adults play, right?"
Pokemon selling almost 7 million copies in 4 weeks and 3ds still maintaining best selling hardware in 2013 begs to differ.
