Nothing really. Sony wants to buy out the technology manufacturer of a component of Nintendo's system. The edram is the graphics chip embedded on the processor on the wii U. This doesn't really mean that much. Typically in acquisitions the company's current contracts still stand and likely nintendo has the contract up until the generation is over.
Just now sony will get some of those sweet sweet nintendo manufacturing dollars.

Absolutely, it's THE console to get while the other consoles go through their first year dry spells. It's got a good library. It's still more powerful than last gen. Still let's you play all your wii stuff.

Too True. Nevermind the cost of being a god gamer. Pretty much an option of those with rich parents or those working so hard that they would never have enough time.
I hope steambox comes through. It's not that I disrespect pc gaming just tv gaming with a unified controller input option is all I need. Steambox brings that. Just hope much more gets ported to the os asap.
I say they go the colors route. Not change to size just different plastic. It's worked before. Inexpensive redesign too.
I'd love to believe this and maybe you're right... but the bad news is it's a bit too different. PS4 and Xbox one are still basic PC architecture which means third party will happily make their big boy version for pc then move it over to ps4 and xbox one with little effort and make locked optimized settings.

The numbers now are the early adopters. There is still no system seller titles. No god of war, no halo. The only possible system seller right now is Titanfall for xbox. However if you listen to the pc gaming community. They are starting to get jealous of Nintendo exclusives. Nintendo just has many quality games coming that exist nowhere else.

Wii U sold 3 million by January 2013... so there's really no point in mentioning that. Wii u sold 3 million during its christmas release and the rest over the course of the year.
